Dear Providers:

The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) will be conducting informational sessions for providers on the Addiction and Recovery Treatment Services (ARTS) transformation: ARTS 101-The Basics. These sessions will provide a general overview of the new ARTS benefit that will expand access to a comprehensive continuum of addiction treatment services for over 1.1 million Virginia Medicaid and FAMIS patients on April 1, 2017. The sessions will also cover the reimbursement structure and overview of the up to 400% increase in payment rates, for many of the substance use services.

DMAS leaders will provide updates on:  Increasing rates up to 400% for many of the substance use services. Some service rates are higher than commercial plans!  New provider requirements and new payment models for the new services.  Upcoming training sessions for providers to reduce the frustration in helping individuals suffering from the disease of addiction. Sessions will review the new payment model and tools to better help individuals and is founded on evidence-based treatment including American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria as well as Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid addiction.

Online Training Registration

The training sessions will be on-site at the locations identified in the letter, NOT ONLINE. We will be using Adobe Connect for the on-site registration process only. Online Medicaid training registration can be accessed at http://dmasva.dmas.virginia.gov/. On the left hand menu click the Learning Network link then click the Current and Upcoming Training Events link. Open the ARTS 101-The Basics letter, scroll to the third page and select the link given that corresponds with the session you wish to attend. The links will open the Adobe Connect registration page to the training scheduled for that day and time. Each participant’s name and valid email address will be required for registration. Once registration is approved, you will receive a confirmation email with all of the training details. The number of participants allowed in each session is limited. If you do not receive the confirmation email please call 804-225-4578 or 804-371-6327. Faxed registration forms will also be accepted.

3 ABINGDON – VIRGINIA HIGHLANDS COMM COLLEGE – INSTRUCTIONAL AND STUDENT CENTERS Take Highway 81 to Exit 14 to Route 140 North (Jonesboro Road). Make a right turn onto VHCC Way (at the stop light). This turn will lead to the college campus. Presentation will be held in Building ISC130. A sign will lead you to the lot that is designated for parking LOT 2. The Parking area goes to the right with slight incline; there is plenty of room to park.

ROANOKE – CARILION MEMORIAL HOSPITAL-6 th FLOOR AUDITORIUM From 220 South: Continue North on US 220S/Interstate 581 to the Elm Avenue/Vinton exit (Exit 6). Turn left onto Elm Avenue. At the intersection of Elm Avenue and Jefferson Street (Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital is on your left), take a left onto Jefferson Street. Go approximately 1 mile to the intersection of Jefferson Street and Reserve Avenue and make a left. Arrive at the parking garage, walk across the covered walkway to the main entrance of the hospital. Take the bank of 6 elevators in the lobby to the 6th floor. From Interstate 81: From I-81, take Exit 143 for I-581 S/US 220S toward Airport/Roanoke. Continue South on Interstate 581 to the Elm Avenue Vinton exit (Exit 6). Take a right onto Elm Avenue. At the intersection of Elm Avenue and Jefferson Street (Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital is on your left), take a left onto Jefferson Street. RICHMOND – DEEP RUN FACILITY From Points North: Take 1-95 S to Parham Road/Rt. 73 exit 83B. Merge onto E. Parham Road/Rt. 73. Travels 4.8 miles turn R onto West Broad Street/Rt. 250. Drive 2.1 miles and turn LEFT onto Gaskins Road. Proceed on Gaskins Road 1.9 miles then turn RIGHT onto Ridgefield Parkway. After approximately .4 of a mile the park entrance will be on the right. From Points South: Take 1-95 N to 1-64 W. Take the 1-64 W/I-195 S exit to 79 then merge onto 1-64 W. Continue to travel on I-64 W to the Gaskins Road South exit 180A. Merge onto Gaskins Road, after 1.2 miles turn RIGHT onto Ridgefield Parkway. Travel approximately .4 of a mile and the park entrance will be on the right. From Points East: Take 1-64 W. 1-64 W becomes 1-64 W/I-95 north. Take the 1-64 W/I-195 S exit to 79 then merge onto 1-64 west. Continue to travel on 1-64 W to the Gaskins Road South exit 180A.
