Webster PTO Minutes Tuesday, August 20th, 2013 ______Officers present: Abbie Paul (Co-President), Amy Quigley (Co-President), Heather Davison (Co-Vice President Volunteers), Molly Long (Co-Treasurer), Michelle Ternes (Co-Treasurer), Andrea Aylsworth (Co-Secretary), Lisa Hardersen (Co-Secretary)

Welcome/Introductions:  Meeting was called to order at 6:33 p.m. by Co-President Abbie Paul & Amy Quigley.

Dr. Carenza:  School Population: o When Webster opened in 2006 it had 185 kids and had 25 employees. o This school year we have 612 students and over 100 staff members.

 Overview of the year: o The staff tries very hard to create a very family/friendly atmosphere here at Webster. o Webster’s Theme for 2013-2014: Ready, Set, LEAD! . Learn, Excel, Achieve, Dream

 Safety at Webster: o Procedures and policies in place to keep everyone safe not to make people not feel welcome. o We always need to know who is in the building; everyone coming in must go through and check in at the office. o Parents need to establish an before/after school routine as where to drop off/meet students after school so there is not adults in the school to make sure it is safe for everyone. o Kids can enter the building at 8:40 at designated entrances.

Upcoming Events  August 29th – Welcome Assembly/Race Around Webster Fundraiser Kick-off @2:45.  September 2nd – Labor Day-No School  September 3rd-PTO Meeting

OFFICER’S REPORTS  Co-Presidents – Abbie Paul & Amy Quigley: o N/A  Co-Vice Presidents – Heather Davison & Tasha Mulligan: o 108 families have already filled out 2 hour power, a great start. o Still looking for chairs for Family Fun Night, Volunteer Coordinator for RAW, and Beautify Webster so please let a PTO member know if you are interested.  Co-Treasurers – Molly Long & Michelle Ternes: o Went over the budget for 2013-2014  Co-Secretaries – Andrea Aylsworth & Lisa Hardersen: o Join the Webster PTO Page @ www.facebook.com/ptowebster o Join the Webster Twitter Page @ www.twitter.com/ptowebster o Communications (emails that go out to all of the parents or to the teachers/staff) @ [email protected] o Publicity (pictures you want to go on FB or in the Yearbook) @ [email protected] Meeting adjourned at 7:48 pm
