1 PERSONAL PROPERTY UPDATE FOR 2014

“ Please read through these instructions at least !!{twice}!! before updating The first thing to do is download the attachments to F:\CAMA>. (If you need help doing this call your OTC Field Representative.) Once these files are in F:\CAMA>, you will need to check the 14ALL, and the 14NAM tables in F:\CAMA> folder to see if your computer put a .dat or .txt extension on the tables. If it did, these tables will have to be renamed by right clicking on the table and clicking on Rename and removing the .dat or .txt.

1. Before beginning, IF the history year (Backup Year) has not been created, do it NOW. Follow the instructions How to Make Backup Year for CAMA, (the last page of these directions) 2. The CAMA Histories need to be updated. Pick YEAR END Processing in the MENU and then run Hist/Auto Update to update the Real Property history.

Enter 2013 year When it finishes counting, click on CANCEL to go back to CAMA. (This may take a while to run, from about 20 minutes in a smaller county up to 2 hours in a larger county)

3. Then run the TPP Hist. File Auto-Update.

Enter 2013 2 4. The TUSE Table needs to be exported before starting the update. If you need help exporting the table, call Rob in the Ad Valorem office, or your OTC field person.

There are 2 tables in this update. These 2 tables are: 14ALL and the 14NAM.

14ALL--- has all the personal property price changes for 2014.

14NAM--- has the lines that need to be changed in the TCNTY table for your county.

The first table contains the appreciation tables and the new Sq.Ft. Method Prices.

(IF you have set your own values in the tables, Call Rob before proceeding).

Here is what the 14NAM looks like:

TABLE5TCNTY 14 14 County Number & Name Table 130101 TCNTY1 14 County Number & Name Table 130101 TCNTY2 99 130101 TCNTY3 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 130101 TCNTY5 NAME OF COUNTY 2014 TCNTY500 NAME OF COUNTY 2014 TCNTY5** NAME OF COUNTY 2014 (Open with Notepad or WordPad and edit.)(Replace the ** with your county number)

Here is an example of how you would change this table so you could import it in to your CAMA system.

TABLE5TCNTY 14 14 County Number & Name Table 130101 TCNTY1 14 County Number & Name Table 130101 TCNTY2 99 130101 TCNTY3 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 130101 TCNTY5 DEWEY COUNTY 2014 TCNTY500 DEWEY COUNTY 2014 TCNTY522 DEWEY COUNTY 2014

This table imported into your CAMA system will make your Personal Property Rendition header come out like it should. Remember it is your County and your County Number that you put in this table. You can edit this table with Notepad, WordPad or the Edit command in DOS. If you have any questions contact your OTC field representative. Once you have saved these attachments in the F:\CAMA> folder and have changed the 14NAM table then you should be ready to import these tables into CAMA. 3 To Import the tables in CAMA go into the CAMA system and click on the Menu tab, then click Tables, then System Tables, then Jump. At the Table Maintenance screen type in the name of the Table you want to import in the Code field (14ALL or 14NAM) (do not press enter!). Now click on the Functions tab. Next choose Import from the drop down menu and type the name of the table you are importing in the INPUT window and click Accept. When, the “Table Import Complete” message pops up, click on Ok.

Now you can go back to the Code field and import your next table by repeating the previous steps.

Before you try to print out your renditions to mail to the taxpayer, make sure you have checked the following tables for correct dates: SYSYR, TSYS, USER and the CUSTM. You also may want to check the TCARD table for accuracy.

*CUSTM5T3110-DATELINE1 Is the date in the upper right corner of the rendition. **CUSTM5T3110-DATELINE2 Is the date in the lower right part of the rendition.
