Thank you for your enquiry regarding the post of Front of House Assistant with The Anvil Trust Ltd.

This is a part time position on a zero hour contract which is predominantly working evenings and weekends with some daytime shifts (if available) across both our venues. Due to the nature of our business, hours/days available each week will vary and therefore cannot be guaranteed. However we would require a minimum availability from you of two shifts per week. The hourly rate is £6.75 rising to £7.00 after successful completion of a six month probationary period. Annual holiday entitlement is also paid at an additional £0.81 per hour rising to £0.84 after successful completion of the probationary period. Please note that typically there will be no work available during the month of August. Due to local and national licensing laws we require applicants to be at least eighteen years old.

Front of House Assistants will be responsible for the delivery of an efficient and courteous customer service as front line representatives of The Anvil Trust.

The key objectives of the post are:

 to provide the highest standards of customer care for all performances, exhibitions, hires and events at The Anvil Trust properties  to provide beverages for all performances, exhibitions, hires and events at The Anvil Trust properties  to assist with the sales from bars and satellite trading points  to assist in the cleaning and maintenance of dispense equipment, bars, satellite trading points and allied areas.  to ensure the safety of the public for all performances, exhibitions, hires and events at The Anvil Trust properties  to ensure the best presentation of bar’s, foyers and public areas  such other duties as necessary, that are compatible with the nature of the post

Front of House Assistants are expected to:

 ensure the highest possible professional standards of presentation and hygiene, including the wearing of correct uniform and badge whilst on duty  ensure compliance with relevant liquor licensing law, health & safety legislation, licensing conditions (including clearance of gangways and fire exits)  prohibition of cameras and recording equipment is enforced.  bring to the attention of the Duty Manager any breaches of licensing conditions or safety concerns, always communicating any complaints.  ensure the best presentation of the bars, foyers and public areas prior to, during and after each event

 to be especially aware of the requirements of customers with individual and accessible needs  undertake sales at bars and satellite serving points and ensure that cleaning of these and allied areas, (coffee brew room, glass wash, and cellar) is of the highest standard.  take orders for and prepare interval drinks  ensure patrons are in possession of a valid ticket and direct to their seats  comply with all instructions given on the Steward Evacuation Cards  ensure the security of stock  handle cash and other methods of payment in an accurate and secure manner  ensure the bars and satellite serving points correctly prepared and stocked before and after service, paying particular attention to stock rotation in date order  ensure the safest working practices and the careful use of all dispense equipment, ensuring any mobile equipment (torches, pads, radios etc) is returned at the end of each shift  distribute literature for forthcoming events  run the cloakroom efficiently and securely  bring to the attention of the Duty Manager any replacement, purchase and maintenance needs for stock and equipment and fixtures.  undertake such training as deemed necessary by The Deputy Head of Operations
