In the country of New Zealand, the Maoris practice one of the oldest and strangest methods of fishing in the world. Most people that we know use a fishing pole and bait, but the fisherman of New Zealand move very quietly in the water, and move very, very quietly and carefully so that they do not make any ripples. The fish swim in and out of the rocks and coral, and sometimes stop to rest. When at rest, part of the fish is hidden by the rocks, but the rest of the fish is in plain view of the fisherman.

Walking up very quietly behind the fish, the fisherman will reach down and tickle the sides of the fish. While trying to wiggle away, the fish backs right into the hands of the Maori, or fisherman. The fisherman must hold onto his catch very tightly or else he will lose his supper.
