Win Everham – Bio for Estero Bay Symposium

Dr. Win Everham is Professor of Marine and Ecological Sciences at Florida Gulf Coast University. He teaches field-based ecology courses, and his research interests center on the response of ecosystems to disturbance. In SWF this has included: the impacts of exotic invasion and exotic removal in wetlands, fire ecology in exotic infested systems, ecological dynamics of stormwater ponds, and the response of ecosystems in SWF to hurricane disturbance from Charlie and Wilma.

Since arriving in Florida in 1996, Dr. Everham has served in a variety of capacities on community organizations including: Chairman of the Estero Bay Agency on Bay Management, member of the Fort Myers Beach Marine Resources Task Force, member of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida Environmental Education Committee, and member of the Institute for Food and Agriculture Immokalee Field Station Agroecology Advisory Board. Currently he is a Board Member for the Calusa Nature Center, and Co- President of the Southwest Florida Council for Environment Education, and a member of the Big Cypress National Preserve Off Road Vehicle Advisory Committee.
