JOB DESCRIPTION/PERSON SPECIFICATION

JOB TITLE: Moodle Administrator

BAND: Band C

RESPONSIBLE TO: E-Learning Manager

LOCATION: London

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

To provide high quality, cost effective and robust Moodle service for all learners, students and members of CIPFA. Be the first point of contact for Moodle-related customer, partner and student queries.

To manage and administer all content and programmes within Moodle, and day to day operational management and maintenance of the Moodle-based VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) and ensure that the VLE remains fit for purpose, valuable and capable of delivering e-learning provision and support across the organization and partners.

KEY TASKS:

 Provide expert skills, knowledge and experience to support the development and maintenance of the Moodle virtual learning platform  Manage courses and user accounts across multiple Moodle installations and versions ensuring high-quality of services  Offer first line support to partners, students and learners for Moodle-related issues, and liaise with colleagues and Moodle partners to resolve any issues that arise;  Proactively prepare Moodle courses in anticipation of upcoming programmes, providing suitable access to colleagues and external partners as needed  Liaise with trainers, associates, learning and administrative colleagues to identify and release the latest course materials to learners  Support and train colleagues, trainers and external partners in the effective use of Moodle, course development and management  Work closely with colleagues and partners to establish business requirements and effective service delivery of Moodle  Technical administration of Moodle environments; installation, testing and localised modifications of Moodle plugins; duties associated with quality, standards, documentation and release  Troubleshoot and recommend solutions including optimising performance; plan and implement regular upgrades of Moodle  Manage course documents stored on a shared network drive and maintain effective version control  Work closely with IT, Web and Moodle partners and support teams to manage the CRM and coordinate end-to-end backend processes and support to optimise Moodle performance and product releases  Proof read existing course documents, and review course administrative areas for suitability, including maintaining a consistent look complying with CIPFA brand and feel across the site and courses

 Create and run management and exception reports to show activities of the site  Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver these on time and within budget to a high-quality. GENERAL TASKS:

 Positively promote the benefits of digital learning and the culture change needed to support flexible learning leveraging on the advances on technology-based learning tools and methods, apps, social media, special interest forums  Proactively develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the CIPFA Group, to ensure that services are high- quality, efficient, robust and duplication avoided  To keep abreast of developments in education and training, learning technologies, recommending areas for implementation, improvement and investigation where appropriate  Provide ad hoc requests for management information as required relating to online courses, products and services  Assist colleagues and users with technical problem-solving relating to specific content and process  To carry out any other duties as reasonably directed from time to time by the Head of Learning or other senior managers.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Degree or equivalent Essential Training qualification Desirable Sustained record of continuing Essential professional development
