The Tree of Life is an approach based on Narrative Therapy that uses a tree as a metaphor for someone’s life. It is a collective approach pioneered by Ncazelo Ncube and David Denborough to enable people to tell their stories in ways that make them stronger. The Tree of Life has made an extraordinary impact on staff and services across the NHS. It’s a hugely effective way of addressing service user engagement and recovery. Come and be part of this rapidly expanding and positive development.
Find out about the different settings we have used it in, for example: Older Adults; Learning Disability; physical health, staff teams; acute and community settings.
Help us celebrate the achievements and think about new directions
Get some practical ideas about using and evaluating it in your own services
Learn about narrative theory and therapy and why it fits so well with recovery perspectives
Hear about some of the challenges we have faced. There will be presentations, exercises and opportunities for reflecting throughout the day. Market stalls will also showcase the wonderful Tree of Life work that is happening in the NHS in different services and teams, and resources will be shared. A Celebration of the Tree of Life
