NOTICE OF BACA COUNTY COORDINATED ELECTION November 7, 2017

TO THE ELECTORS OF BACA COUNTY:

In accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes, Section 1-5-205, notice is hereby given that Tuesday the 7th of November a Coordinated Election will be held in Baca County as an all-mail ballot delivery election.

Ballots will be mailed to each active registered elector the week of October 16-20, 2017 in accordance with C.R.S. Section 1-7.5107(3)(a)(I).

ELECTION NEWS:

What will be on the November 7, 2017 Coordinated Mail Ballot? RE-1 Walsh School District Candidates for Board of Education Directors, Two Positions RE-4 Springfield School District Candidates for Board of Education Directors. Two Positions

IMPORTANT: If you do not live in one of the two participating entity boundaries you will not receive a ballot for the November 7, 2017 Coordinated Election.

When will I receive my ballot? Ballots will be mailed to all active eligible voters the week of October 16-20, 2017.

When can I return my ballot? As soon as you receive your ballot you may return it the following ways:

1. Drop your ballot off at the Baca County Clerk & Recorder’s Office at 241 Main Street, Suite 3, Springfield, CO 81073.

2. Place adequate postage on your ballot return envelope and mail it back. Remember to allow enough time for mail delivery of your voted ballot. All ballots must be returned to the Clerk and Recorder’s office by Election Day, November 7, 2017 by 7:00 p.m. in order to be counted, whether by hand delivery or mail delivery, or

3. Drop your ballot in the 24/7 Drive Up Drop Box located in the Courthouse Driveway/Drive through, east side of the building (no postage necessary). Baca County Courthouse, 741 Main, Springfield, CO 81073.

Election Services Provided: Election Services provided at Baca County Clerk & Recorder’s Office, 741 Main, Springfield, CO 81073 - Voter Service and Polling Center: register to vote, update voter information, receive replacement ballots; return ballots; cast a ballot either by paper or electronic voting machine; cast a provisional ballot. No other Voter Service and Polling Center will be open.

Election Day 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 2017.

All voted ballots must be received by the Clerk and Recorder by 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR 2017 COORDINATED ELECTION:  October 16 – 20, 2017: Ballots will be mailed to all active eligible electors.

 October 16, 2017 Monday: Last day to submit an application to register to vote through a voter registration drive. (no later than 22 days before the election)

 October 30, 2017, Monday: Last day to submit an application to register to vote through the mail, a voter registration agency, a local driver’s license examination facility, or online to receive a ballot in the mail for the Coordinated Election. (through the 8th day prior to the election)

 October 31, 2017, Tuesday: Last day to file an absentee ballot application to receive the absentee ballot by mail if you are absent from your home address.

 October 30, 2017, Monday – November 7, 2017, Tuesday: Voters can register to vote, obtain a replacement ballot or drop off their mail in ballots in person at the Baca County Clerk & Recorder’s Office 741 Main Street, Suite 3, Springfield, CO 81073.

 November 4, 2017, Saturday: Baca County Clerk and Recorder’s Office Election Department will be open on Saturday, November 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for voting, ballot drop off, replacement ballots, register to vote, and update voter information.

 November 7, 2017: ELECTION DAY Baca County Clerk and Recorder’s Office is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., 741 Main Street, Suite 3, Springfield, CO 81073.

GOVOTECOLORADO.COM is available for information and updating voter information. The Baca County Clerk and Recorder will receive any updated information you provide at the web-site.
