Lloyd’s List Intelligence, part of the publicly-listed Informa Group, is currently looking to recruit a Spanish-speaking Associate Analyst for its credit reports division.

As an Associate Analyst, you will be responsible for researching and assessing the credit risk of maritime, commodity and energy companies based in US as well as the wider Americas region and worldwide.

You will produce a range of tailored reports on the corporate, operational and financial status of such companies, as well as on their market standing. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Lloyd’s List Intelligence brand and service offering, while also advancing your own professional standing in the market, by building relationships with clients, writing market-focused articles, attending industry conferences and performing company visits.

Your main responsibilities will include: - Researching and analysing company, market and other relevant information, and compiling incisive credit reports to strict deadlines. - Working as part of a multi-lingual and experienced team to provide a world-leading credit risk information service to our global clients. - Understanding the structure and market fundamentals of the shipping industry, including ship types, cargoes, ports, trade routes and financing. - Writing marine credit reports which display focused knowledge, impartiality, judgment and integrity. - Making regular contact with clients and market contacts by phone and email as well as at corporate events.

In order to qualify for this role, you must have: - A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from a recognised university in economics or finance or another related discipline. A postgraduate degree in Maritime Studies/Management is particularly desirable. - Written and oral fluency in the Spanish and English languages. Fluency in other languages, is also desirable. - Demonstrable analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative. - The ability to work on multiple projects at any given time, and to measurable deadlines. - Relevant work experience in the maritime and/or energy industries is highly advantageous.
