Planning/Work/Recall Time This week we are using our planning chart. When it is our turn, we tape our name to the area where we want to work. For Recall Time, Mrs. Martin takes our name down and we tell what we did during Work Time.

Music/Movement We are singing lots of different songs from our repertoire. We take turns picking what songs we sing each day. For movement we are doing group, partner, and individual activities with scarves. We have a CD of songs and activities we listen to during movement.

Project Time We colored our Bible story page, did a cut and paste farm animal sheet, made cards for Ms. Leticia and her family, and colored our ABC Bible coloring books.

Bible Story This week our Bible story is Jesus, the Good Shepherd. We learned about shepherds and how Jesus is our shepherd. Our Bible verse is Matthew 20:28 and our song is stanza one of I Am Jesus’ Little Lamb.

Small Group Time Our key experience in Small Group time this week is creative representation. We finger- painted fish, drew portraits of a classmate, made cars out of play-dough, and built things out of “junk.” Shepherd Lutheran Preschool Erika Martin ~ Director & Teacher Leticia Guillen ~ Assistant Teacher

Spanish Since Ms. Leticia isn’t here this week, Mrs. Martin is teaching Spanish. We are reviewing all the vocabulary we’ve had since Christmas break. Mrs. Martin is doing okay; when she makes a mistake we nicely correct her!

I still need January Stretch-n-Grow money from some of you. From February until the end of the year, the expense of SnG is being covered. If your name is on the following list, I have your money. It’s $18. Cuneo, Smith, Wells

We are started the Pizza Hut Bookit! Beginners program. Read with your child, and bring in the cutouts so we can add them to our poster!

We will start The Grouchy Ladybug parts in school next week.

We are going to the Wyoming/Tony Hillerman Library (8205 Apache NE) on Thursday, March 26 from 10:30-11:30. We will have a tour and our own private story hour. There is no cost. If your child would like to get a library card that day, you must chaperone. Ms. Leticia and I were discussing having a picnic somewhere after the tour, but we haven’t decided on the details. We will let you know. If you would like to chaperone/drive let me know!

The Child Care Licensing department came last Friday to do our annual evaluation. I sent home a note to some of you a few weeks ago asking for the missing items from your child’s file. We have now been written up for non-compliance in those areas. I need those items Shepherd Lutheran Preschool Erika Martin ~ Director & Teacher Leticia Guillen ~ Assistant Teacher

ASAP. The licensing surveyors will be returning to make sure we have corrected our deficiencies. I will try to speak with you personally if you are missing items to remind you.
