CIHC MISSION To provide national leadership in moving all health providers, teams and organizations towards improved collaboration in healthcare practice.

CIHC VISION Working collaboratively to improve the health of Canadians.

CIHC OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge Exchange. To drive knowledge production, exchange and application so that every health provider (regardless of where they are studying or practicing), has the opportunity and obligation to learn how to work successfully in a collaborative setting. 2. Capacity Development. To identify opportunities to provide expert advice, support or resources to organizations or groups implementing interprofessional collaborative working or learning environments. 3. Role Modelling. To build the Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative as a model of interprofessional collaborative approaches within and among organizations and sectors. 4. Partnerships. To develop and promote strategic partnerships with organizations that can introduce and integrate interprofessional collaboration within their own operations. 5. Curriculum. To promote cooperative and coordinated approaches to curriculum development and reform that ensures interprofessional education is a requirement in all health and human service education and continuing education programs. 6. Research & Evaluation. To work with policymakers and researchers to develop a research and evaluation agenda that answers key questions and clearly corroborates the benefits of interprofessional education and collaborative practice on health system improvement.

Explanatory Comments and Challenges: . Activity 4: Launch the CIHC/CHSRF/NaHSSA social network based on existing CHSRF teamwork conference community – Due to strategic reorientation this quarter, CHRSF has indicated that they have put this initiative on hold for the time being. CIHC is investigating other social media opportunities to stimulate dialogue amongst the growing interprofessional community.
