1 2015 LEGACY ON ICE COSTUMES AND PICTURES
Costumes will be distributed on Saturday, March 21 st from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. All skaters should try on your costumes once you get home and ensure that all parts of the costume are in the bag. Some costumes may need to be altered slightly. Skaters are responsible for making any alternations required. If you need assistance with your costume, please notify Darcy Chaouch, at [email protected] immediately.
Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 7 th . This is the date the Ice Show Pictures will be taken. The attached schedule indicates a check-in time for each show number and a picture time. Please come dressed in your first costume with hair and make-up done, PRIOR to the scheduled picture time. Skaters can use Locker Room TBD to put on skates and for any costume changes. Skaters can also put skates on in Locker Room TBD. Due to costume changes, only females will be allowed in Locker Room where we have skaters changing (TBD). Every skater MUST have skate guards, clearly labeled with their name. We are on a tight schedule so it is important that you arrive on time. We will not be able to wait for anyone. Items to remember for picture day: 1. Polish your skates 2. Skate guards, with your name on them, are mandatory! Pictures are taken with skates on and walking on concrete will ruin your blades and the floor. Pictures are taken with guards off. 3. Girls – wear flesh/nude skating tights or sheer to waist nylons for the pictures. All tights should be In The Boot. 4. Remember underwear may show under some costumes, so please wear white underwear (most girls wear tights only). 5. Bring hairpins and safety pins for costume and hair adjustments.
The pictures are being taken by Valley Images at Hasse Arena. Parents must order pictures on picture day when they are taken. Order form envelopes will be handed out with costumes on March 21st. We will have some extra on hand for picture day. Please have your order form filled out and check enclosed for convenience. Skaters will need to provide separate order envelopes for each number that they are purchasing pictures for, however one check can be used to cover the cost of all pictures ordered per skater. Ordered pictures will be available at the rink the weekend of the show for you to pick up. Pictures of all group numbers and soloists will also be featured in the Ice Show Program. 2015 programs will be available during all shows. 2015 LEGACY ON ICE CHAPERONE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PROCEDURES Parent chaperone volunteers are a critical component to keeping our skaters safe and the ice show running smoothly. These volunteers make sure skaters are safe, accounted for, and get skaters to and from the backstage area at the proper time. Chaperoning is not a hard job, but without chaperones, the ice show couldn’t go on.
Chaperone responsibilities include: Meet skaters in assigned locker rooms as they arrive Supervise skaters during the show
13 Once skaters have checked in they must stay in the locker room with their group until they are escorted to the rink for their performance Skaters will return to their locker room after their performance and stay there until they are picked up by a parent or guardian at either intermission or the end of the show Some groups may be allowed to watch part of the show from the bleachers backstage. Skaters must be accompanied by a chaperone at all times including in the bleachers and if they leave the bleachers for any reason. • Help remove skate guards before going to the ice, hold guard box and put skate guards on after the performance and make sure all jackets, gloves, etc. are left in the locker room. • Assist with last minute preparations. • Keep gum, food and drinks out of the locker rooms.
You may bring activities to keep the skaters busy. Some suggestions: A DVD player with age appropriate movie, CD player and music, crayons and paper, books, stickers, cards, etc. Also, some groups will be allowed to go as a group with their chaperones into the bleachers and watch the show before/after their performances. Skaters are not allowed to bring cellphones with cameras into the locker rooms. Any camera phones found in the locker rooms will be confiscated and returned to the skater’s parent after the show.
For those who chaperone their own skater’s group, you are still able to watch your skater’s performance from seats near where the skater’s go on the ice.
All skaters MUST remain with their chaperone for the entire duration of the show until either intermission or the end of the show when they are picked up by a parent or guardian. This keeps our skaters safe and it minimizes the audience disruptions of parents and skaters coming and going during the performance.
Please contact Tonyea Patterson or Janelle Wall with any questions. Thank you in advance for your help in making this a fun and successful ice show! Tonyea Patterson Or Janelle Wall 612.968.0403 651.775.7462 [email protected] 2015 LEGACY ON ICE PRE-SALE TICKETS
