On motion of Mr. , seconded by Mr. , the following resolution was offered: RESOLUTION NO. A resolution authorizing the Chairman of the Jefferson Parish Council to sign a Hold Harmless Agreement in favor of the Roman Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of New Orleans to include St. Christopher School, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Mary Magdalen, Our Lady of Divine Providence, Christ the King Church, Immaculate Conception School, Stuart Hall, Visitation of Our Lady, Academy of Sacred Heart, Archbishop Shaw High School, Jesuit High School, St. Francis Xavier School, St. Matthew the Apostle School, St. Edward the Confessor School, Academy of Our Lady, St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, St. Cletus, St. Rosalie, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, St. Phillip Neri, Archbishop Rummel High School, and St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church but not limited to these facilities their agents, employees, and assigns against any and all claims, suits, demands, liabilities, and damages, whether compensatory or punitive, resulting from or arising in connection with or incidental to the athletic programs conducted by Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation on the premises and/or facilities for the period beginning January 1, 2012 and ending December 31, 2012. (Parishwide) WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation sports teams have the necessity to practice and periodically play games at facilities owned by the the Roman Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of New Orleans to include St. Christopher School, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Mary Magdalen, Our Lady of Divine Providence, Christ the King Church, Immaculate Conception School, Stuart Hall, Visitation of Our Lady, Academy of Sacred Heart, Archbishop Shaw High School, Jesuit High School, St. Francis Xavier School, St. Matthew the Apostle School, St. Edward the Confessor School, Academy of Our Lady, St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church , St. Cletus, St. Rosalie, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, St. Phillip Neri, Archbishop Rummel High School, and St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church but not limited to these facilities; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation programs are large enough to warrant the use of facilities off parish property; and WHEREAS, the Roman Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of New Orleans to include, but not limited to, St. Christopher School, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Mary Magdalen, Our Lady of Divine Providence, Christ the King Church, Immaculate Conception School, Stuart Hall, Visitation of Our Lady, Academy of Sacred Heart, Archbishop Shaw High School, Jesuit High School, St. Francis Xavier School, St. Matthew the Apostle School, St. Edward the Confessor School, Academy of Our Lady, St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, St. Cletus, St. Rosalie, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, St. Phillip Neri, Archbishop Rummel High School, and St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church requires execution of a Hold Harmless Agreement prior to use of their various facilities. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Jefferson Parish Council of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana acting as governing authority of said Parish: SECTION 1. That the Jefferson Parish Council authorize the Chairman of the Jefferson Parish Council to sign a Hold Harmless Agreement in favor of the Roman Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of New Orleans to include St. Christopher’s School, Saint Catherine of Siena, St. Mary Magdalen, Our Lady of Divine Providence, Christ the King Church, Immaculate Conception School, Stuart Hall, Visitation of Our Lady, Academy of Sacred Heart, Archbishop Shaw High School, Jesuit High School, St. Francis Xavier School, St. Matthew the Apostle School, St. Edward the Confessor School, Academy of Our Lady, St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, St. Cletus, St. Rosalie, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, St. Phillip Neri, Archbishop Rummel High School, and St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church but not limited to these facilities their agents, employees, and assigns against any and all claims, suits, demands, liabilities, and damages, whether compensatory or punitive, resulting from or arising in connection with or incidental to the athletic programs conducted by Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation on the premises and/or facilities for the period beginning January 1, 2012 and ending December 31, 2012. The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows: YEAS: NAYS: ABSENT: The resolution was declared to be adopted on this the 15th day of February, 2012.
