Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope this communication finds you enjoying your summer, having fun with friends and family, and preparing for the academic year 2017-2018.

If Kenilworth has a weather related delayed opening, the pickup time for the buses from Roselle, Rahway, Hillside, Winfield including VoTech and Magnet will be two hours (2 hours) from the normal pickup time. For example, if a student is picked up at 6:30 AM at their stop and Kenilworth has a delayed opening, that student will now be picked up at 8:30 AM. If Kenilworth stays open for the entire day, those three buses will be on a normal schedule coming back from Kenilworth to the towns of Roselle, Rahway, Hillside and other communities.

If your home district is closed or has a delayed opening and David Brearley is operating on a normal schedule, it is up to the parents to call and/or check their home districts website for delays or school closures. If your home district is delayed, unfortunately Kenilworth is not allowed to send buses into your district for 2 hours from the normal pickup time. If your district is closed, there will be no busing and it is your responsibility to transport your child to school.

If Kenilworth is delayed and Vo-Tech is open, the procedure will be as followed; the buses will pick up two hours later. Thus, the Vo-Tech AM bus will depart Harding at 9:15/9:30 AM instead of 7:30 AM. It is the parents’ discretion as to whether or not they would like to take the students to Vo-Tech. Vo-Tech students will be brought back to Kenilworth at 10:30 AM. The afternoon schedule for Vo Tec will not be affected.

If the Kenilworth School District is closed and the Vo-Tech School or Magnet School is open, the Vo-Tech/Magnet bus will not go on its normal schedule. It is the parents’ discretion as to whether or not they would like to take the students to those schools.
