Purpose: Coordinate the operation, deliverables and schedule for the Inter-Tribal Monitoring Data project to fulfill the FY13 Statement of Work

Products: For each objective we should reach some level of agreement on: 1. Description of deliverables; 2. Follow-up assignments; 3. Schedule of activities

Day 1 – Wednesday, September 4, 2013 1:00pm – 1:30pm: Welcome and Opening Statements – Phil  Scope of the Workshop  Regional updates, highlights to be aware of and tracked  Vision – Improving access to and use of resource data  Administrative update  Review and modify the agenda

1:30pm – 2:30pm: JMX smolt/adult application presentation - Bruce Jones, NWIFC

2:30pm – 2:45pm: Break

2:45pm – 4:00pm: Objective 2 – Data Inventory - Henry Inventory data collection efforts, and the ways in which the resulting data may contribute to management decisions and policy development. Data inventory and data flow diagrams for data collected by BPA funded projects. Selected metadata to be placed on www.monitoringmethods.org, www.monitoringresources.org, and www.cbfish.org

Potential products:  Excel or database file listing the type of data being collected by each project  Core metadata describing each field data form (Dublin Core-DES Comparison)  Data Flow or E-R Diagrams (CA DAFD/DES). 4:00pm – 5:00pm: Objective 4 – Coordination with the CA project (Initiate data flows) – Henry Pursuant to management directives, scope and initiate flow of data for tribal and regional management purposes, including estimates produced for the Coordinated Assessments, by obtaining population level estimates of the VSP related indicators and supporting metrics (CA/Data Inventory/FGDC Coordination)

Potential products:  Review of CA project status  Status of the VSP parameters by tribe  Next steps by tribe

Day 2 – Thursday, September 5, 2013 10:00am – 1:00pm (Working Lunch) – Objective Five: Improve the capacity and efficiency of data management systems and practices – Nicole As opportunities present themselves, assist CRITFC and its member tribes to identify and improve the capacity and efficiency of their data management systems and practices over time.

Potential products or actions:  Reports on status, gaps and priorities for each participant - All  Nez Perce – status update  Umatilla – status update  Yakama – status update  Warm Springs – status update (via conference line/GoTo Meeting)  CRITFC – status update  Needed actions on existing prototype projects  Opportunities for new prototype projects

1:15pm – 1:45pm – Objective 6: Coordination of Data Management Regionally – Henry Coordinate data management systems and processes with other co- managers to improve sharing of agreed-upon key management metrics, to the extent practicable (CA DAFD/DES).

Potential products or actions:  Participate on regional work groups  Track activities of regional work groups  Provide input to regional work groups

1:45pm – 2:00pm – Objective 1: Maintain Tribal Data Management Plans – Henry Scope and coordinate the development and maintenance of tribal data management strategies to guide the development of data systems and applications for fishery and related habitat programs.

Products:  Complete Yakama data management strategy  Complete Warm Springs data management strategy  Review and updated tribal and CRITFC data management strategies annually

2:00pm – 2:15pm – Objective 3: Data sharing agreements – Henry

3 Assist in the development of tribal data sharing agreements and produce an annual report on the status of tribal data sharing.

Potential Products/actions:  Share tribal data policies, if any, with other parties to this project.  Consider the need for inter-tribal data sharing agreements  Track regional discussions on data sharing agreements  Produce an annual report on the status of individual tribal data sharing arrangements, if any.
