Skills for America S Future

Invitation to Submit a Model of Success

American businesses are facing a growing skills gap challenge and companies with open jobs cannot find workers with the needed skills to fill them. An independent policy program of the Aspen Institute, Skills for America’s Future (SAF) is uniquely positioned to help reduce this skills gap by increasing the number and strengthening partnerships between employers and community colleges. These partnerships will help create a talent pipeline, ensuring that businesses remain competitive. SAF has established a national network of more than 30 employer and 300 community college partners.

SAF ALONG WITH CEWD INVITES YOU to join us in identifying and cataloging high-impact employer- community college partnerships. SAF and CEWD will share these Models of Success with employers and community colleges nationwide. It is our hope that many of these models will be replicated.

Initial findings are inspirational. Models of Success that support Skills for America’s Future’s mission and goals will:

 Raise awareness about the skills gap challenge and offer effective solutions developed through innovative community college-employer partnerships

 Improve the preparedness of the labor force to match the needs of an ever-changing economy

 Help Americans of all backgrounds, abilities, and socioeconomic circumstances attain meaningful skills and credentials that allow them to find and stay in good jobs

 Achieve excellence in training so that businesses have access to skilled candidates

 Foster collaboration among business, educational, governmental and community organizations

 Create a more competitive American economy
