PSCBS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

We are delighted to be running Car Boots in Southsea for 2017, let's hope for a long and dry season! By entering the site and accepting your entry ticket you are agreeing to comply with our terms and conditions. When are Car Boots on? Car Boots are now back up and running again every Sunday through until September 24th (weather and events permitting). If we do unfortunately have to call the event off due to the weather we will endeavour to get the communication out as early as possible through our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/PSCarBoot) there will also be staff and signage on site notifying of any cancellations for those who do still turn up. The scheduled events currently that interrupt Car Boots are as follows: 30th April- Duathlon 21st May- Duathlon 25th June- Circus 9th July- Race for Life 27th August- Victorious Festival 10th September - Sporting Event (Unconfirmed) (Any more additions will be publicised as soon as we know.) What time does it start? -Traders are asked to arrive from 6.30 am onwards, the final cut off being 9.00 am. -General Buyers are encouraged to arrive from 7.00 am onwards. What time does it end? Trading currently ends at 2pm, an extra hour than last season. Due to strict traffic restrictions the site needs to be completely clear of traders, buyers and vehicles by 3pm. How much do pitches cost for traders? Pitches start at £8.00 for a regular car pitch going up to £15.00 for larger pitches. Pitch fees are charged in relation to the space that you take up and your vehicles size and type. We encourage traders to keep their pitch to the length of the side of their vehicle, any traders who need more space will be charged in relation to this. (Pitch fees are charged at full discretion of site management.) Does the Car Boot still raise money for Charity? After covering our costs ALL profit from each Car Boot, generated from your pitch fees and our concessions fees is donated to local charity Rowans Hospice. Do buyers have to pay an entrance fee? No. At PSCBS we don't charge any entrance fee, the Car Boot is FREE entry for all general buyers. Can I bring a trailer? Trailers are welcomed on site but there is an extra charge depending on the trailers size. Can I arrive early? We prefer everyone to arrive at the Car Boot Sale at the correct times. If you do arrive early then please be prepared to wait. Can I leave early? Vehicle Movement is restricted on site until 11am. We want to create the safest environment possible for everybody to enjoy these events. We have fully trained traffic marshals who will escort you off site when a safe window becomes available after this time. Can I pre-book a pitch? We operate on a turn up and pay system. We cannot guarantee specific pitches but our stewards will do their best to accommodate your needs and requests. Can I choose where I park and set up? Not exactly. We will always try to accommodate requests for specific areas. However, to run as smoothly as we do and fit sellers onsite requires precision parking marshalling by our stewards. We cannot guarantee every trader an exact pitch, it would be unattainable. Where should I enter the site? -Traders are asked to arrive at the Clarence Esplanade Roundabout, if anyone is arriving earlier they are encouraged to queue along the seafront. The entrance will be signposted. -For general buyers and members of the public the site is open access on common ground. We encourage buyers to arrive on foot but there is car parking available nearby opposite Hovertravel. Where should I exit the site? The sites main exit point for traders is the Duisburg Way end. What if I am running late, can I still get a space? 9.00am is the cut off for traders arrival. Are there toilets on site? There are public toilets available nearby to the site opposite Hovertravel. Site stewards will direct you. Can I bring my dog? Dogs are welcome on site, common rules apply. We would appreciate it if they stayed on their leads as the site will get busy through the day. Can I unload my car and go home for more goods? Unfortunately not. Due to the layout of the boot sale, once a car is parked it needs to stay where it is until the vehicle movement window opens. If you have more goods than will fit in your car we would suggest bringing more than one car or doing the boot sale several times. Can I leave unsold items on the site? No. All traders must take any unsold items away with them. Traders are responsible for leaving their pitch clean at the end of trading. There is a shoe and clothing recycling bin on site next to the entrance. Strictly No Counterfeit Goods... It is illegal to sell counterfeit goods anywhere in the UK and PSCBS is no exception. Can I sell food? I've made some cakes etc.. We have approved food traders onsite at PSCBS and do not allow anyone else to sell food or drinks. Anyone reported to be selling food or drinks onsite without approval will be asked to remove such items from sale and/or asked leave and will not be offered a refund. This includes homemade cakes. No form of drink sale is allowed, cans, bottles large or small, freshly made, frozen, alcoholic or otherwise.

Other Non-Permitted items: Tobacco and Cigarettes, Alcohol Wine or Spirits, Firearms, Air rifles, BB Guns or other dangerous weapons, Prescription/Pharmacy Medicines, Fireworks, explosives or other flammable items, Anything deemed illegal under current UK law. We want PSCBS to safe family friendly environment. Anyone found trading in these items at PSCBS will be removed from the site without refund and if applicable the relevant authorities informed. Happy Trading!
