HUGH’S RUMINATIONS June is the month when summer begins. Time for outdoor activities fishing, camping and hiking. A time to get out with the kids and grandkids. Many communities have minor league baseball teams to enjoy, as well the Indians and the Reds. I would like to thank all those who participated in the 25/25/50 raffle. If you still have tickets out please sell what you can and send in the stubs.

Fraternally, Hugh Summers GC SPRINGFIELD PLANNING COMMITTEE BREAKFAST Letters recently sent to Districts #4 and #6 for the Knights and #1 and #2 for the Sisters had a wrong date that has been set for our second breakfast. The date is June 16, 2012, the Saturday before Father’s Day. Menu will be bacon, sausage, eggs, gravy, biscuits, fried apples and pancakes. This will be at Ingomar Lodge, 2002 Lexington Ave. Springfield and is open to the public and the cost is a donation. We will start serving around 8:00 a.m. Hope to see you there. THE GRAND LODGE K of P, DOMAIN OF OHIO, IS HAVING A PICNIC NORTHERN DISTRICT’S ANNUAL PICNIC, SPONSORED BY GRAND LODGE DOMAIN OF OHIO AND HOSTED BY OWATONNA LODGE WILL BE HAVING A PICNIC ON Sunday, July 29, 2012 starting at noon THE WEST WOODS PARK AT THE DEER RUN SHELTER (Which is off route 87 in Novelty, Ohio & is a Geauga Park-see driving instructions below)

This is off state route 87 close to the intersection of SR 306 which is east of Cleveland. To be exact it is in Novelty (aka Russell), Ohio.

The date is July 29, 2012, (Sunday) so please reserve the date. The picnic should be a lot of fun for old and young as it was last year even if the rain was really coming down. We will picnic from 12 noon till whenever. We will have a covered shelter, picnic tables, an extra large grill and games for the adults and kids. You do not have to bring your picnic lunch. Owatonna Lodge will supply pop, ice, and dessert, hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad and a surprise dessert. Last years picnic was fantastic and this year’s picnic should be even better.

DIRECTIONS TO WEST WOODS PARK: From Erie and points north: Travel I-90 to Route 306. Travel south on Route 306 for approximately 12.7 miles to Route 87. Turn east on Route 87 and travel 1.9 miles to the park entrance on the south side of the road. From Akron and points south: Travel I-422 to 306 exit. Turn north onto Route 306; travel approximately 5.3 miles to Route 87. Turn east on Route 87, and travel for approximately 1.9 miles. Park entrance is on the south side of Route 87. From Warren and points east: Travel Route 87 approximately 3 miles west of Auburn Road. Park entrance is on the south side of Route 87.

2012 DOMAIN OF OHIO CONVENTION There was some confusion about the dates for the Convention. The dates contained in this article are correct. The 2012 Grand Convention of the Grand Lodge and Grand Temple of Ohio K of P is being held at the Double Tree Hotel/Cleveland South, 6200 Quarry Lane, Independence, Ohio 44131. The convention will be held on Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 through Saturday, September 8th, 2012. Make your room reservations before August 15th, 2012.
