2. Notice of Planning Appeal

The Council is hereby given notice by Northumberland County Council of an appeal made under Town & Country Planning Act 1990, Appeal under Section 78, to the Secretary of State against the decision of Northumberland County Council to refuse permission in respect of the following:

Prudhoe West & Halfway Ward Planning ref. 13/03430/FUL Proposal: 4 terraced houses to the site along with two semi-detached bungalows Location: Land adjacent to Fox & Hounds, South Road, Prudhoe, Northumberland Applicant: Mr Alan Batey, Whinhaven, Peth Lane, Ryton, Tyne & Wear NE40 3PD Response deadline: 8 December

[The Council had responded making OBJECTION on the grounds of over-development of the location, adequacy of access to the proposed development, sufficiency of dedicated 1 car parking, and the expected impact on South Road. The Meeting agreed that it would be in favour of sensitive development of this site, but considered that the proposed development was inappropriate for the reasons given above]

The appeal will be determined on the basis of a HEARING. The Planning Authority has forwarded all the representations made to it on the application to the Planning Inspectorate and the appellant. These will be considered by the Inspector when determining the appeal (Inspectorate Ref. APP/P2935/A/14//2216592). The appeal commenced on 23 April 2014. All representations must be received within 5 weeks of this date.

General Planning ref. 13/02527/FUL Proposal: Demolition of existing health clinic and bus shelter and construction of eight bungalows for affordable rent and two bungalows for shared ownership with associated parking and landscaping Location: Prudhoe Health Centre, Adderlane Road, West Wylam, Prudhoe, Northumberland NE42 6JE Applicant: Isos Housing Limited, Number Five, Gosforth Park Avenue, Gosforth Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear NE12 8EG Response deadline: 16 September Northumberland County Council decided to GRANT permission [The Council had responded SUPPORTING the application]

General Planning ref. 14/00462/FUL Proposal: Conversion of existing stone built commercial property (Northumbria Care Trust clinic) into 4 flats and construction of 2 storey new build dwelling comprising 2 flats within grounds of Nomis House Location: Northumbria Care Trust, 18 South Road, Prudhoe, Northumberland NE42 5JS Applicant: Mr Peter Smith, ARCH, Ashington Workspace, Lintonville Parkway, Ashington, Northumberland NE63 9JZ Response deadline: 10 March 2014 SUPPORT - The Committee agreed that it welcomed the construction of affordable housing as proposed, and was especially pleased that a development of this kind, if approved, would be located so close to the town centre and its facilities. However, the Committee also agreed that concern should be expressed respecting the adequacy of the parking provision in the development, and the potential impact of this problem on surrounding streets. Castlefields & Low Prudhoe Ward Planning ref. 14/00753/FUL Proposal: Construction of rear extension to form sunlounge Location: 8 Orchard Hill, Prudhoe, Northumberland NE42 5QF Applicant: Mr Steven Morton Response deadline: 5 April 2014 2 Northumberland County Council decided to GRANT permission [The Council had responded SUPPORTING the application]

4. Notice of Withdrawal of Planning Application

The Council is hereby given notice by Northumberland County Council of the withdrawal of the following application. No further information has been supplied at this point.
