Dear Mr. Jones:

I am writing to apply for your Little City Pizza Assistant Manager position that you advertised in our local newspaper, The Yourtown Journal. I believe I would be a good addition as an assistant manager of your Little City Pizza team.

Please accept this letter and accompanying resume as evidence of my interest in applying for your assistant manager position. I feel my qualifications and my skills would prove to be an asset for your business.

I will graduate from Winters Mill High School this June 2014. Now, I am looking for a job that will add experience to further develop my career aspirations, which is to own my own business. Here are some of my key strengths that I would bring to the position. I am:

 A self-starter  Have the capacity for life-long learning  Disciplined, take responsibility for my actions and choices  An excellent communicator, communicating using verbal, non-verbal, visual, and written techniques  Very eager and willing to learn new things  Exceptional at customer service  Great team leader, supporter, and worker

Accepting challenges is the foundation of my life experiences and something I do with confidence. You will find me a totally committed individual with pride in being direct, spontaneous and communicative. I can maintain records, perform numerical calculations with accuracy and I need little direction to complete assigned tasks. I believe these are the qualities that make an excellent candidate for your assistant manager position.

I am a proven high school Army JROTC Program leader. I am responsible for leading, staffing, handling and organizing various important activities in my school Army JROTC Program. I have a working knowledge of MSWord, MSPowerPoint, MSExcel and the Internet.

I would appreciate your consideration of my resume. If you do think there is a shared interest, I would greet the opportunity to meet with you in person to interview for your assistant management position, learn about the requirements of the position, and how my skills would be a good fit.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,

John D. Rockerfeller

Letter of Recommendation “Builder Model” January 31, 2014 Recommendation for John D. Rockerfeller

To Whom it May Concern,

I highly recommend John D. Rockerfeller for (selection and appointment) to (the assistant manager position at Little City Pizza) (a military academy) to continue his pursuit to (own his own business upon graduation from college) (serve the nation as a military officer).

John Rockerfeller is a hardworking and talented young man, with a 3.10 grade point average. He is Second Lieutenant in his High School JROTC program, and has received the Superior Cadet Medal.

In addition to being an excellent Cadet, John is a member of both the basketball team and the track and field team. He volunteers in the community, contributing over 360 service hours at Westminster community youth center and programs.

Last week I spoke to John over the phone. It is clear that he has a genuine (business aptitude and entrepreneur mindset) (desire to serve, and presents a military aptitude). His commitment to academic excellence, balanced with participation in high school sports and community service, is what (we look for in future business leaders) (we look for in military academy candidates). I have also spoken to John’s (Business Math teacher) (Principal) (JROTC Senior Military Advisor, and Army Colonel); he (she) could not be more laudatory about the (dedication, commitment, and work ethic) (character and leadership role) that John Rockerfeller demonstrates among his peers (and those that he leads).

I am highly confident that John Rockerfeller will succeed in (your Little City Pizza business environment) (a military academy environment), and indeed be a tremendous asset (to your team) (as a military officer in the Armed Forces of the United States).

Respectfully,

First Reference John Von Numan President and CEO, Garrett Freight Lines

Second Reference Michael P. Mullen III Rear Admiral, U.S. Coast Guard, Retired

Third Reference Eric A. King Principal, Winters Mill High School Thank You Letter “Builder Model” January 31, 2014

Over the past several years, I’ve served in both customer service and support services roles. I excel at interacting with non-technical personnel about technical applications and computer problem resolutions. I receive feedback all the time about my ability to make technical concepts easily understood. I have recently enrolled in computer networking classes. I like the idea of working in the networking field, especially in a help desk or technical support role. I understand that your company hires help desk professionals. Here is my resume for your review. I ask that you consider me for a technical support position.”
