Sunday April 8: Welcome aboard everyone as we depart for sunny Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We will make several stops today for coffee, lunch & bathroom breaks as we travel along. We will make our first night’s stay away from home at the beautiful Fairfield Inn, Tewksbury Mass. Prior to check in we will have supper at the famous Cracker Barrel Restaurant (not included). Once we are settled into our Hotel we will gather for a Meet & Greet with dessert, tea & coffee. Monday April 9: After a good night sleep and delicious breakfast we will travel through several States to our 2nd night’s destination in Chambersburg PA at the Hampton Inn. A Group Dinner is included this evening. Tuesday April 10: After breakfast this morning at the Hotel we will depart for Wilson, North Carolina. We will travel through several states including Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia & North Carolina. We will make our night’s stay at the Hampton Inn. Supper is on your own tonight – Cracker Barrel Restaurant is within walking distance. Wednesday April 11: Today following breakfast at the Hotel we will travel a short distance to Myrtle Beach arriving around noon time. We will first have lunch and then go shopping at the local Grocery Store so everyone can stock up with food items for their 11 day stay at the beautiful Dayton House Resort.

2 Checking in mid- afternoon you can start your “Fun in the Sun Vacation”. Monday April 16: Enjoy another Leisurely Day in the Sun – for those who like Southern Gospel Music “Singing In the Sun” a southern Gospel Music week is being held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Centre Monday through Saturday of this week. If you plan to attend tickets should be purchased in advance. Tuesday April 17: Today the Motor Coach will depart the Hotel at 8:30 AM for an exciting day as we visit the Historical Hopsewee Plantation. The Plantation was built in 1740 some 40 years before the American Revolutionary War. Hopsewee Plantation was one of the South’s major rice plantations and the birthplace of Thomas Lynch Jr. one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Once we have completed our morning tour we will enjoy lunch before we travel a short distance to Historic Georgetown the 3rd oldest city in the state. Surrounded by live oak lined streets this southern coastal city is full of history, charm and personality. Remember to bring your camera to capture some of the best photographic opportunities in the South. We will welcome onboard a local Tour Guide who will enlighten us all. At the end of the Tour you will have ample time to explore further on your own. (Plantation Tour, Lunch & Historical Georgetown Tour included) Wednesday April 18 : Today is a leisurely day! Enjoy! Thursday April 19: Tonight we have arranged a delicious Group Dinner for you at the Giant Crab followed by an evening out to the Alabama Theatre. Motor Coach will depart the hotel at 4:40 PM.. Friday April 20 & Sat April 21: Enjoy the last 2 days of your fun in the Sun Vacation!! Sunday April 22: Today we will leave beautiful Myrtle Beach and travel north to Winchester VA where we will overnight at the Fairfield Inn. Tonight we will have a Group Dinner at the Golden Corral (included). Monday April 23: Today after breakfast at the Hotel we will depart for the Amish Country in Lancaster PA. Arriving late morning we will have lunch at Kitchen Kettle on your own before we welcome onboard Rachel Smucker a local Tour Guide. You are in for a real treat as Rachel has planned a wonderful afternoon for us. We will visit several Amish Farms where they display and sell beautiful Quilts, Furniture, Crafts and much more! A stop along the way for an Amish homemade pretzel & root beer is a must!! 3 Tuesday April 24: We will depart the Amish Country after Breakfast and make our way further north to overnight at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, Saco, Maine. I have arranged a “Farewell Group Dinner” for you tonight at the hotel (included) followed by an evening of entertainment and the Special Guests are “YOU “ so get busy and have a song ready, a skit, a poem about the Trip or what-ever-strikes your fancy!! (Bring along a musical instrument if you play) Wednesday April 25: After Breakfast this morning we will travel towards home with a stop at the Super Walmart, Bangor for those who would like to purchase a few Grocery items and then we are off to Duty Free prior to crossing the Canadian Border. Please have your passports and receipts available for the Canadian Customs. Once we cross the Border we are home to our beautiful “Country of Canada” taking with us wonderful memories and many new friendships that will last a lifetime.

“Ottawa Tulip Festival features over 300,000 Tulips”

The Canadian Tulip Festival has grown to become the largest Tulip Festival in the world. It preserves the local heritage of Canada’s role in freeing the Dutch during World War II, and the symbolic tulip; a gift in perpetuity to the Canadian people for providing a safe harbour to the Dutch Royal Family at that time.

May 15: Today we will travel to Quebec City where we will book into the beautiful Hotel Lindbergh. I have arranged a delicious Group Dinner for you tonight. (Included) May 16: After Breakfast at the Hotel this morning (Included) we will make our way to our Nation’s Capital City of Ottawa for the spectacular Tulip Festival! Upon arrival we will visit the grounds of the Parliament Buildings where you can take pictures of the Parliament and the beautiful tulips. Next we will visit and Tour the Royal Canadian Mint before booking into our Hotel the Courtyard Marriot for the next 2 nights. The Hotel is conveniently located next to the By Ward Market ~ Canada’s oldest market operating since 1826. 5 May 17: After a full Breakfast at the Hotel (Included) a local Costume Guide portraying a “Historical Character” will board our Coach and show us the Highlights of our Nation’s Capital including a “Special Stop” at the Home of the Governor General of Canada “Rideau Hall”. This has been the home of the Queen’s representative of Canada and home away from home for visiting dignitaries since 1867. To top off the morning Tour we will experience a living tribute to Canadian heritage & history and be charmed by the beauty and elegance of the thoroughbred horses as we visit the RCMP training ground & stables used in preparation for the famous Musical Ride. July 2-5, 2018 (4 Days) Iles-de-la-Madeleine Come sail away with Burgess Tours for this amazing vacation!! The Magdalen Islands await you.

The landscape of the Magdalen Islands is made of islands and sand dunes. Magnificent golden beaches contrast with the red of crumbly edges rocky steep slopes. The bright colours of the houses give an inviting style to the Islands and the greens, blues and reds catch the eye. The houses’ orientation may seem strange at first, but it is in fact well thought and done in that particular way because of the strong winds which periodically sweep the islands.

July 2 nd : Welcome aboard as we leave this morning for an amazing 4 day adventure. We will arrive in Souris PEI shortly after noon today to board the 5 hour ferry crossing to the beautiful Magdalen Islands. While onboard we will have a Group Supper (included) and arrive on the Island by 7:00 PM. We will make our 3 night’s stay away from home at the Chateau Madelinot. Sunday July 8: Welcome aboard today as we begin our 13 Days of adventure & excitement as we make our way towards Newfoundland. Making several stops today we will travel as far as Sydney where we will spend our 1st night away from home at the beautiful Hampton Inn. Once we check in we will enjoy a Group Dinner at the lovely Restaurant Kiju’s within walking distance of the Hotel (included).Later in the evening at the Hotel, we will enjoy a “Meet & Greet” with Cake, Tea & Coffee. Monday July 9: After a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel we will make our way to the Ferry Terminal where we will board for the 6 hour crossing to Port Aux Basques. Once we have boarded you can enjoy onboard entertainment, watch movies, enjoy some fresh air on deck & maybe even do some whale watching as we get closer to the Island. Please make sure you have supper on board prior to debarking as we will have a 3 hour drive to Corner Brook where we will overnight before beginning our awesome journey across Newfoundland. Tuesday July 10: After a restful night and delicious breakfast, today we will travel eastward across the province passing through Terra Nova National Park before arriving in Clarenville, where we will make our home for the next 2 nights. 9 Thursday July 12: This morning after breakfast we will travel a short distance to St. John’s the Province’s Capital City where we will be staying at the beautiful Delta Hotel for the following 2 nights. Upon arrival you will enjoy a welcome reception followed by free time this afternoon & evening to explore this awesome City on your own. I will have a list of all the great Café’s, Restaurants, shopping etc. for you, as your Hotel is situated in downtown St. John’s overlooking the harbour. Also for those interested in going on a Boat Tour to see Icebergs, Whales & Sea Birds “Iceberg Quest Ocean Tours” is available & within walking distance. I have the information available for you. Enjoy your time here!! Friday July 13: This morning after breakfast, we will welcome aboard a local guide who will explore this great City of St. Johns with us visiting Signal Hill, Cabot Tower, Quidi Vidi Fishing Village, Government House, Anglican Church, and many other historic sites throughout the city. We will then head for Cape Spear National Park, the most easterly point of land in North America. This park offers spectacular coastal scenery as well as WW 2 gun emplacements and the oldest lighthouse in Newfoundland. We will then take a drive to the quaintest little fishing village Petty Harbour. Arriving back at the Hotel around 1:00 PM you will have some free time to further enjoy downtown St. Johns. This evening I have arranged a Group Dinner for you at our Hotel (included). Saturday July 14: After a delicious breakfast at the Hotel we will be on our way for another exciting day as we journey back across the Province towards Gander where we will be stopping for lunch (on your own). Early afternoon we will enjoy beautiful scenery with Tickle’s, Runs & Inlets as we head for Twillingate, a.k.a. Iceberg Alley. We will also take time to visit the Prime Berth Twillingate Fishery & Heritage Centre. After another full day we will drive a short distance where we will overnight in Gander. Supper will be on your own tonight at the Hotel. Sunday July 15: This morning after breakfast we will explore the Town of Gander before we travel westward across the province to overnight in Deer Lake. We will first visit the North Atlantic Aviation Museum which is dedicated to preserving and presenting the story of Gander’s role in the development of transatlantic flight followed by a stop at the Silent Witness Memorial. In 2001 the Town of a Gander became well known for playing an integral role in world aviation in the hours immediately following the September 11 attacks. More flights landed at the Gander International Airport than any other Canadian airport except Halifax. As the morning comes to an end we will have lunch in Gander (on your own) before we continue our Journey westward. Once we arrive at our Hotel in Deer Lake we will have a little free time before we leave for a Group Dinner (included). M onday July 16: This morning after breakfast and a good night’s rest we will continue our journey by heading up the Northern Peninsula passing through the beautiful Gros Morne National Park with valleys, spectacular fjords, mountains and stunning scenery. While on our way we will first stop at the Gros Morne Visitor Centre where you will enjoy a short video presentation which will enlighten you with the facts & history of the area. We will then continue to Norris Point to see the Table Rocks a most different rock formation which makes it a UNESCO World Heritage Site – layers of Rock formed due to the glaciers. We will then drive through the quaint Fishing Village of Rocky Harbour & then unto to visit the Lobster Cove Lighthouse. As the morning comes to an end we will travel a short distance for lunch at the Shallow Bay Restaurant in Cow Head (not included). Following a delicious lunch we will continue our journey up the Northern Peninsula to our final destination in St. Anthony where we will make our home for the next 2 night’s (keep your eyes open for Moose along the way). A Group Dinner is included this evening at the Hotel.

10 Tuesday July 17: After breakfast today we will visit the Town of St. Anthony, home of Dr. Wilfred Grenfell, a missionary Doctor who founded cottage hospitals throughout the Province. We will take time to visit the Historic Properties which include the Museum, Hospital & Dr. Grenfell’s Home and you will marvel at the accomplishments of Dr. Wilfred Grenfell. We will also take time to visit the Light House and Craft Store located near the beautiful Harbour. Let’s hope Mother Nature co-operates and provides us with some stunning iceberg formations As the morning comes to an end we will stop for Lunch (Included) before heading to the most Northern tip of NL to visit the Statue of Leif Erickson who landed there over 1000 years ago and thus the Viking Settlement was born. We will then make our way to the Norstead Viking Village – a Living History Site. As the afternoon comes to an end we will return to the Hotel. Tonight prepare yourselves for an exciting evening as we join the Vikings for a Feast & Entertainment!!!(Included). Wednesday July 18: Today after breakfast we head back down the beautiful scenic coast retracing our footsteps and keeping our eyes open for Moose. After we travel a short distance we will make our 1st stop for the day in Port au Choix referred to as the “Fishing Capital of Newfoundland” People have been making a living from the sea in this area for over 5000 years. It is known as the French Shore and we will learn more about the history here as we visit the French Rooms Cultural Centre. We will also enjoy watching how they cooked their bread in the outdoor ovens and of course get to sample the freshly baked bread topped with local jams. Yum! Yum! We will also take in a short video of the heritage of the town. As the morning comes to an end we will depart and travel a short distance to Hawkes Bay where we will enjoy lunch (Included) We will continue on this afternoon to Corner Brook for our last night on the Island. Tonight I have arranged a Farewell Dinner at the Hotel. (Included) Thursday July 19: Breakfast this morning will be at 6:30 AM and departure at 7:30 AM as we will need to be at the Ferry Terminal in Port Aux Basques (9:45 AM) 2 hours prior to the 11:45 AM Crossing. We will have an early lunch (on your own) before boarding the Coach for a 2 hour Countryside Tour. We will welcome on board, Del a local Step- on Guide who will enlighten us about the Mennonite people who have lived here in St. Jacobs for some time now. We will also visit some Mennonite Farms & Quilt shops which also sell local Mennonite hand crafted items. Del has also arranged for us to actually visit a Mennonite family in their home where they will explain their way of life first hand and answers any questions you may have!! We will end our Tour in the Village of St. Jacobs where you will have the rest of the afternoon to explore this quaint little village on your own. There is plenty to see & do as you stroll down the friendly streets & enjoy the small-town atmosphere. Don’t forget to check out Canada’s 1st Home Hardware Store along the way. As the afternoon comes to an end I have arranged a delicious Family Style Group Dinner for you at the Stone Crock Restaurant 4:00 PM right here in St. Jacobs (included). September 8: After a restful sleep and a scrumptious breakfast you will have a free day to explore and visit Canada’s largest Farmer’s Market with over 500 Vendors offering variety beyond imagination. “Treasure’s Galore” You will have plenty of time to stroll along and enjoy the sights. September 9 : After breakfast with much regret we will have to say good-bye St. Jacobs as we travel on our way to Historical Kingston – Canada’s First Capital arriving early afternoon. We will overnight at the new Quality Inn & Suites, but first we will welcome on board Ray a local tour guide who will enlighten us on this Historical City of Kingston. Sit back & enjoy the beautiful City of Kingston and all the history that has taken place here. Kingston was the first capital of a United Canada, was home to Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada's first prime minister, and boasts North America's oldest continuously-running public market in Market Square, behind Kingston City Hall — itself a National Historic site. Mid –Afternoon we will make our way back to the Hotel to check in and freshen up for a Night out! I have arranged a “Thousand Islands Sunset Dinner Cruise” for you which includes a 3 course meal, live music along with the spectacular scenery of the Thousand Islands. Monday October 15: Welcome aboard today as we start our Fall Foliage Tour to the Beautiful Newport Mansions of Rhode Island. We will travel as far as Tewksbury, Mass where we will make our home for the next 2 nights at the Fairfield Inn. Prior to checking into the Hotel we will have supper at the famous Cracker Barrel Restaurant (not included).Once we are settled into the Hotel we will have a “Meet & Greet” with tea, coffee & dessert. Tuesday October 16: Following a good night’s sleep and a delicious breakfast we will depart & travel a short distance to the Newport Visitor Center. It was built in 1913-1914 by Tom Plant for his new wife Olive. The project was enormous: 16 room mansion,10 stall stable with living quarters above and an attached 6 car garage, 2 gate houses, 100’ greenhouse, farm buildings, 18 hole golf course, and 45 miles of carriage roads. The story of Tom Plant epitomizes “the American Dream”, a story of rags to riches- then back to rags. As our morning comes to an end we will depart from the Castle in the Clouds and travel a short distance where I have arranged a delicious Group Dinner (included) for you at the Hart’s Turkey Farm Restaurant…Yum!! Yum!! After our Dinner we will continue towards North Conway, NH arriving mid- afternoon. The White Mountain Trail is a 100 mile loop through the heart of the White Mountains offering views of New England’s most rugged mountain scenery as it travels through historic “notches” and across the Kancamagus National Scenic Byway. We will make several pictures stops this morning as we travel along. As the morning comes to an end we will stop for lunch (on your own) at Mt. Washington Cog Railway. You will have ample time to take in some great views, visit the museum & gift shop. Early afternoon we will depart and travel a short distance to tour the Famous Mt. Washington Resort Hotel where the rich & famous of days gone by have stayed. We will then finish up the last leg of today’s journey in the Village of Old North Conway.
