HONG KONG, (February 5, 2016) – Relevent Sports, Catalyst Media Group, and LeSports announced today that the hugely successful International Champions Cup (ICC) tournament will be back to China in 2016, with star-studded Manchester City the first of three teams to be announced for the ICC China this July.

The tournament, created by Relevent Sports and developed in Asia-Pacific by sister company Catalyst Media Group, has revolutionized the pre-season touring experience for the world’s top international club teams. Since the premier edition in North America in 2013, the tournament has featured matches across the USA, Mexico, Canada, England and Italy, as well as full-tournaments in both Australia and the most in-demand sports market in the world – China.

ICC China 2015 saw global icons such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Carlos Bacca battle in front of passionate crowds in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Shanghai. Real Madrid were crowned ICC China’s inaugural winner in a tournament that featured Philippe Mexes’ wonder-goal in Shenzhen, later named as one of the best 10 goals of 2015 by FIFA.

Manchester City, who won the English Premier League in 2011-12 and 2013-14, will come to China as part of the International Champions Cup China for the first time.

Fans can expect imminent announcements of the other participating clubs for ICC China 2016, as well as host cities and venues.
