Nanjing Government Scholarship

In order to further the development of the international students’ education and attract more outstanding prospective international students to study in Nanjing, Nanjing Government has set up Nanjing Government Scholarship since 2013. Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics is granted the privilege to offer the scholarship to the applicants of non-degree, bachelor, master and doctoral degrees.

I. Scholarship Rates

According to the applicants’ status, the allowance for scholarship students can be classified into 3 types:

1. 20, 000 RMB/ year for Master and Doctoral Degree 2. 10, 000 RMB/ year for Bachelor Degree 3. 5, 000 RMB/ half year for Non-degree Study

II. Eligibility Requirements: 1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health. 2. Applicants must abide by the Chinese government’s laws, rules and regulations and school regulatory framework. 3. Education background and age limit: a) Applicants for Bachelor’s degree study must have a high school diploma or equivalent qualification and be under the age of 25. b) Applicants for master degree must obtain bachelor degree or equivalent qualification and be under the age of 35. c) Applicants for doctoral degree must obtain master degree or equivalent qualification and be under the age of 40. 4. Students who wish to continue their study for more than 6 months in Nanjing after they obtain the bachelor or above degrees can apply for the scholarship. 5. Applicants must adhere to the university’s rules and regulations and demonstrate high academic achievement. 6. Applicants who receive financial support from any other Chinese Government Scholarship programs or organization/agencies would not be eligible for the Nanjing Government Scholarship. 7. Applicants who have achieved certain level of Chinese proficiency and can provide corresponding certificates (HSK Certificate or other certificates for Chinese study and examinations) are prioritized. For English-taught majors, requirement for applicant’s Chinese proficiency can be slightly lowered. III. Application Documents (completed in English or in Chinese) Applicants must fill in and provide the following documents truly and correctly.

a) Application Form for Nanjing Government Scholarship for International Students in duplicate, either in Chinese or in English. b) Notarized certificate of applicant’s diploma or degree. Applicants need to submit proof of employment or study issued by the applicants’ current employer or school if the applicants are currently working or studying. c) Academic transcript, in notarized Chinese or English translation. d) Applicants’ study or research plan, either in Chinese or in English. e) Two letters of recommendation written by persons of at least associate professors from the applicant’s alumni university in English or in Chinese for students applying for master or doctoral degree. f) If the applicants have achieved certain level of Chinese proficiency, photocopies of HSK certificate or other certificates for Chinese study and examination are required. g) Photocopy of the applicant’s passport. h) Physical examination record.

For students who have successfully got scholarship, the application process and application materials can be simplified for the following year. Foreign Students who have received scholarship should participate in annual scholarship evaluation. Scholarship holders who fail to meet the requirements will have their scholarship cancelled.

The application documents will not be returned whether the applicants are admitted or not.

IV. Approval Process:

The application materials will be assessed by the Committee of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics for International Students Scholarship. NUAA will report the results to Nanjing Government for approval.

Scholarship recipients must register to Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics on the date stipulated by the university. Students who have not received permission and arrive late for this process will have their scholarship status automatically cancelled.

College of International Education of NUAA reserves the final right of interpretation of these detailed implementation regulations.
