PROCEDURES FOR VISITORS

All persons intending to move inside the mill must sign the visitors’ book prior to leaving the office and then again when they are ready to leave the site.

Visitors must wear a safety vest whilst in the mill. If they do not have one then a vest will be supplied for their use whilst on site.

No person is to enter the mill unless wearing approved footwear.

There are no drugs or other chemicals permitted to be bought on site, including alcohol.

An employee of the Company will accompany all visitors.

All visitors must be aware that they are under the supervision of the employee of the company and must follow their direction at all times.

EVACUATION PLAN

In case of fire, or any other threat to safety in the Mill, where evacuation is necessary.

1 There will be a predetermined signal that will be given to make everyone in the Mill site aware of the fact that an evacuation is taking place.

2 Office Staff will ring the relevant Emergency Services, and take the Visitors Log to the Evacuation Point

3 One person will be delegated to go to the palletizer to inform staff of evacuation

4 Staff will move quickly to the evacuation point at the gate leading into the Mill House on the corner of Sutton and Campbell Streets

5 A check will be made to ensure all staff; visitors and contractors have safely arrived at designated point.

6 If someone is missing, their last known location is to be ascertained and the Emergency Services are to be notified as soon as they arrive. If containers are coming onto site by road

Drivers are under the control of Conqueror Staff. If there is an issue with a request by Conqueror Staff, the Office is to be notified.

Ensure product is made prior to arrival of truck.

Conduct a Hygiene inspection and fill in Hygiene inspection, cleaning and waste disposal record that is found in AQUIS Compliance folder in bookcase at doorway to tearoom.

Tare the inward weight of the truck with the empty container on it

IMPOTANT Take note of Container No Tare weight of container Seal No to be used after loading.

Position Truck in flow through area and open container for inspection.

Container must be inspected by person with dry box inspection accreditation and who is named on Crokers Compliance agreement with AQUIS.

Container must be checked off with the accompanying sheet.

If container passes checklist, all vents are to be sealed and all floors are to be swept. Sweepings are to be put in plastic bag with container no written on and placed in AQUIS Quarantine bag

At completion of container inspection, the empty container inspection record sheet needs to be raised and started to be filled in. This form will suffice for inspections of all containers for this shipment. This form is attachment 3 and can be found in the AQUIS Compliance Agreement Folder, which is kept in bookcase next to tearoom door.

If container is to be rejected a Container Treatment Record needs to be filled out and sent to the shipping company. The rail Freight Company also needs to be informed so that another can be ordered to take the rejected ones place.

Have the truck parked so that the container loader can be pushed by forklift into the back of the container, Halting progress to allow for the raising of the 2nd set of wheels. Ensure that the container loader hopper is placed so that down Shute can be lowered onto hopper. Make sure you have stopwatch available and UHF is tuned to that of the truck and that you have your safety equipment on you. Dust mask etc.

Start the Container loader and make sure that belt is dry, If not run Container loader for 5 min to dry belt out before putting load on.

Get key for out loading elevator from office safe and start out loading elevator. Let elevator get up to speed by letting it run under no load for 10 seconds or so. Make sure the key is returned to the safe.

Press live bottom button at same time as pressing stopwatch, this is now supplying feed to the elevator and loader.

Fill the container by going for 1 min up the front and slowly filling along the container (until pellets spit back along floor) by having the truck move forward as each heap is filled. Depending on pellet quality this should be done for approx. 13.5 min.

Every 4 min stop stopwatch and live bottom bin and take a sample of pellets for AQUIS inspection. Put them in a bucket and take a sub sample at completion of loading.

As 2nd set of wheels come out of the back of the container let them down by winch and when they in such a position that they can be locked in place make sure this is done with safety bar replaced when framework falls into place.

WHEN MOVING CONTAINER LOADER IN OR OUT OF CONTAINER IT MUST BE ENSURED THAT THE 1ST SET OF WHEELS ARE STILL ON CONTAINER FLOOR AND CANNOT ROLL OUT WHEN EITHER TAKING 2 ND SET OF WHEELS AWAY OR REPLACING THEM. FAILURE TO DO THIS MAY CAUSE INJURY TO THE OPERATOR OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MACHINE.

At completion of loading bring truck around and gross truck outwards, ensuring that the container net weight is not over 23 ton and also that the truck overall weight does not exceed it’s legal limits in accordance with Crokers code of practice and procedure for outloading of trucks.

When container is in order pace seal on the door lock 2nd from right on rear of container. This seal no must correspond with seal no on weighbridge ticket

Take sub sample from bucket and put in plastic bag. This sample must be at least 1 litre of product. The container no is to be written on the bag along with product name and date of loading. This sample must the n be placed on desk in AQUIS testing room which is 1st on right down hallway.
