HOW TO REACH YOUR SMART GOAL

The best way to reach your goal and overcome any obstacles is to outline what you need to do on a regular basis to get to that goal. You need to identify the steps you need to take to accomplish your goal.

Here’s an example: Goal: Improve my math grade one full grade Steps I need to take to achieve my goal: Attend tutoring in the mornings Turn in all my homework Practice multiplication for 10 minutes a night Monitor my progress on ABI Make sure my planner is filled in correctly Study in advance for all tests Make sure I understand the day’s assignment before leaving class

Here’s another: Goal: Make the JV basketball team my freshman year Steps I need to take to achieve my goal: run 3 times a week for 20 minutes each time Shoot hoops 3 times a day for 20 minutes lift weights 3 times a week for 30 minutes each time Join a recreational team Maintain a C or better grade in all my classes Make sure my planner is filled in correctly
