Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to apply for a Dick and Lynne Cheney Study Abroad Grant to support their study abroad.

Eligibility and Criteria: . Cumulative GPA at time of application: 3.00 minimum . Undergraduate applicants must have at least 30 hours of coursework completed or in progress and be enrolled as a UW student. Graduate applicants must have at least 9 hours of directed coursework completed or in progress at the time of application. . UW students in any college who will participate in study abroad, an international exchange program, international internship, or another UW-sanctioned activity abroad may apply. . Applicants should have demonstrated financial need and academic merit . Applicants should be able to demonstrate benefits to an individual’s program of study, personal development and future plans

Please include with your application: (1) A one-page statement of purpose documenting what you expect to gain from your proposed study abroad experience. You should address efforts which you have made to prepare for international study, including foreign language training, your financial contribution, and other preparations for this opportunity. Include information about previous travel, study, and work abroad, if any. (2) A one-page description of the intended program of study, including prospective courses and how those courses fit into your long term academic and professional plans. Students wanting to do independent research should outline their research design and give contact information for their project / independent study faculty mentor. (3) A budget (please use the attached budget form). (4) A copy of an unofficial transcript (simply copy and paste into a document from WyoWeb). All of the above should be submitted as ONE electronic .doc, .docx, or .pdf file and emailed to the faculty director of your study abroad program. ONLY electronic submissions will be accepted.
