In This Issue New Classes It is a pleasure to announce that for the 2017/18 Performance Season, the Warner Mountain Dance Center will be offering both a Tumbling class for 5 – 7 year olds and an New Classes Acrobatics class for students aged 8 and up. Please refer to the Performance Season Class Pre-Performance Season Signups Schedule for more information regarding the day and time of the above classes. WMDC Spirit Month (May) Tumbling and Acrobatics require a great deal of strength and flexibility; moreover, in these classes participants risk an increased change of injury as opposed to other classes. Spring Performance Therefore, as it has always been the desire of the WMDC to maintain dancer’s safety both classes 2016 Performance Video - remake will require certain criteria to be met before a student will be allowed to enroll. Tumbling students will need to either (a) have been enrolled in WMDC classes for one (full) performance season prior, or (b) be enrolled in an additional class. The acrobatics class will require that students were enrolled in the WMDC for the previous performance season (full) and are enrolled in at least one Special Interest additional class. These set of requirements have been designed to keep dancers safe. As the Dates WMDC is not a training center for gymnastics it is important that students view these classes as supplemental to their dance education. May: WMDC SPIRIT MONTH & Additionally, please note that many of the WMDC classes have switched days and Pre-Performance Season Sign-ups times. The class days and times are set. June 10th: Dress Rehearsal & Photo Day Pre-Performance Season Signups th June 9 : Last day to The pre-performance season signups will begin May 1st and end June 16th. In order to inquire/signup for Dance Competition Teams enroll in the pre-performance students will be required to attend two drop-in classes per summer month (July and August). The benefit of pre-performance season signup is the insurance of being June 16th: Pre-Performance enrolled in the student’s desired class. Please note that this is not a requirement; however, it may Season Signups END assist parents who would like to plan for the next year, and ensure a spot for their student. Please do not try to sign a student up for pre-performance season on the day of the performance. Also, June 17th: Spring Performance late signups will not be accepted. Performance Season signups will begin again July 31st and end August 25th. (Summer classes will be available July and August.) June 19th – July 11th: Summer Break

July 12th: Summer Season Classes WMDC Spirit Month (MAY) Resume As dancers generally get overwhelmed in May (between finals/testing and finalizing the pieces for the dance performance). I thought I would like to help make the month a little merrier. Fax (530)-233-5659 Facebook Spring Performance Facebook.com/ warnermountaindance Dress Rehearsal/Photo Day Website Location: Modoc Middle School www.warnermountain Date: June 10th dance.com Time: 9am – 5pm Each dance is given a specific time to rehearse on stage, please see “Dress Rehearsal Schedule” attached in the newsletter email and also available on the website. Dancers are to arrive a minimum of one hour prior to their rehearsal slot. Please ensure the dancer has their hair and make-up complete prior to taking the stage, as the dancers will then be having their picture taken as an individual and as a group. Please note: “Little bow” and “Finale” require all the dancers in the respective age group to be present, otherwise the dancer will not be participating in the bow or finale. Please, no food backstage – only in the cafeteria.

A volunteer sheet will be laid out at the studio, for anyone wishing to help either backstage or in the audience. Also, pre-sale tickets will also be available with a seat reservation sheet. Only families whom have purchased pre-sale tickets will be able to select reservation seats, selected on a first come first serve basis. Please note: House will open at 3:45 and a special pre- performance piece will be showed at 3:50. The pre-performance piece will not be held, so please arrive early if you would like to view it.

2016 Performance Video Due to the complications with the 2016 Performance Video, I have decided to remake the video free of charge to individuals who return their 2016 DVD. Again, the 2016 DVD MUST be returned in order to receive the remade 2016 video. If you did not purchase a 2016 performance video, but would like to there will be a $10 charge for the video ONLY if you have not previously purchased the DVD. 2017 Performance Videos will also be made available this year for $10. The 2016 DVD can be returned at any time, and will be made available for pick-up at the same time as the 2017 performance video.
