Write about two things that your family has taught you.
Two things my parents have taught me is to clean my room, otherwise I can fall and get hurt. We also clean my room so that when people come to play, I can find my stuff. The other thing they taught me is to be nice and kind, so I don’t hurt other people’s feelings. Being kind is being nice and helping others. These are the two most important things my mom and dad have taught me.
Taylor Dunn, 2nd grade, Carters Valley Elementary School, Ms. Livesay
People in my family have taught me two things. First, my dad taught me to ride a bike. At first I was horrible; then, I got better. It was fun. Secondly, my dad taught me how to count money. It was hard then it got easy. I like doing it now.
Hunter Floyd, 2nd grade, Rock Springs Elementary School, Ms. Charlton
Two very important things that my family has taught me are to clean my room and to clean my room. I start on my room and I will still be working until December. When I get done with my room, it gets messy all over again. So when my friends come over to play, they mess my room up. I Just have to start cleaning again. When will I ever learn?
Morgan Kelly, 2nd grade, Carters Valley Elementary School, Ms. Livesay
People in my family have taught me two things. First, my Pa taught me how to play guitar. I like to play it all the time now. Secondly, my Grandma taught me how to fold clothes. Now I can help her when she is folding clothes.
Kayden McKinney, 2nd grade, Rock Springs Elementary School, Ms. Charlton
People in my family have taught me two things. First, my cousin taught me how to hand knit. I can do it better than her now. Secondly, my mom and dad taught me how to cook. I cook for them all the time.
Addie Odum, 2nd grade, Rock Springs Elementary School, Ms. Charlton
Two things that my family has taught me is cooking and sewing. My grandmother taught me to sew, because if something gets ripped I can patch it up. My mother taught me how to cook, so I could be excellent for the future. Those are two things my family has taught me.
Maggie Fleming, 3rd grade, Holston Elementary School, Ms. Hubbard
My family taught me how to ride a bike with training wheels. It was scary at first, but I got the hang of it. Also, when I was practicing hard, I got it. I could ride a bike on my own with training wheels. Then when I got bigger, I could ride a bike without training wheels. Then when I was little I needed some help with my homework at school for first grade and my big brother helped me. Also, there were sentences for my story and I had to do three or four and I got them because my big brother helped me.
Lilian Hernandez, 3rd grade, Holston Elementary School, Ms. Hubbard
Two things that my family has taught me is my dad helped me learn to play the guitar. My mom helped me learn the Bible.
Liam Wilson, 3rd Grade, St. Dominic School, Mrs. Rotenberry
My family taught me how to make French toast for breakfast and how to use my money wisely. Both my mom and dad taught me how to make French toast. My dad taught me to work hard to earn money and to put half my money into my savings account. I may do what I want with the other half. These two are important, because I need to know how to take care of money, and well, French toast is just good. Those are two things my family taught me.
Emmett Wissert, 3rd Grade, St. Dominic School, Mrs. Rotenberry
One thing my family taught me how to do is to read. If you don't know how to read than it is very hard to get through school. If you don't know how to read you won't be able to read a sign to stop. Another thing my family taught me how to do is to use money carefully. When you grow up you may not have enough money to get what you want. These are two things that my family has taught me how to do.
Noah Beverly, 5th grade, Holston Elementary School, Mrs. Rutherford
My family has taught me many important things. The two most important things that they have taught me are how to be a good person. They have also taught me that I will not accomplish my goals if I don’t work hard to succeed them. I am very thankful for my family and all of the stuff that they have taught me.
Parker Walling, 5th grade, Holston Elementary School, Mrs. Rutherford
One thing my parents taught me is to be friendly to everyone (even if I don't like them.) And, if all they ever do is be mean, then to just don't talk to them. The second thing my parents taught me is to never give up on anything! They always say when things get harder and harder, to just keep trying and to not give up. Those are the two great things my parents taught me.
Mia Bishop, 6th grade, Powell Valley Middle School, Ms. Johnson I’m so thankful for my family. They teach me many things. Some are special traits from our ancestors and some are just some goofy things. Everybody enjoys a little giggle even if the joke is on you. My papaw thought that I was old enough to know how to do a lot of things, so I am going to tell you about two. One is how to skin a fish. The other is how to make his special cowboy beans. I love these things so much. I get a lot of credit, but my papaw does most of the work.
Riley Houseright, 6th grade, Shoemaker Elementary School, Ms. Garrett
My family has taught me lots of things. Two things that are very important are to be kind and fair. Kindness, my dad says, is what can make even the ugliest girl in the world pretty and if not used can make the most beautiful girl in the world seem nasty, ugly, and foul. Being fair also goes along with “treat people the way you want to be treated.” My parents try to teach these things to make me see how much better you can get along with people.
Jala Williamson, 6th grade, Shoemaker Elementary School, Ms. Garrett
