Good practice in Safeguarding Adults The Newham Perspective

This course is mandatory for all new workers within Adult Social Care Organisations.

This revised course which replaces the old modules 1 & 2, reflects the new National Competence Framework for Safeguarding Adults

If you have previously attended modules 1 & 2 you do not need to attend this course as well.

All multi agency staff including GPs, team managers, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, community and residential workers. The course is Suitable for: open to local council and health agencies and all private, voluntary and independent sector organisations working with Newham residents. This is open to Personal Assistants. The course will give participants an overview of what abuse is, how workers can contribute to safeguarding adults and how all workers need to work Course Aims within the London Borough of Newham Multi Agency Policies and Procedure & Pan London Procedures that guide good practice. Participants will be able to:  Understand what Safeguarding is and their role in Safeguarding Adults Learning Outcomes:  Recognise an adult potentially in need of Safeguarding and take action  Understand the procedures for making a ‘Safeguarding Alert’  Understand dignity and respect when working with individuals Workers need to be familiar with their own organisation’s policies and Prerequisites/preparation procedures.
