We Are Enjoying the Longer, Sunnier and Hot Summer Days

Dear Parents/Carers, We are enjoying the longer, sunnier and hot summer days.

Just a few reminders:

. Some children will be bringing home a reading book to support their phonics. A separate letter will be sent with more details about this. . Book Bags – please send your child with their book bag each day – it is very useful for sending home letters and paintings/drawings and as some children have reading books it keeps them from getting too grubby. . Please note the reminders at the end of this letter regarding wet weather and hot weather clothing. . Box Modelling – we are still continuing with our modelling area in the classroom where children can come and create models out of ‘junk.’ Please continue to send in any small boxes or washed yoghurt pots as we will gladly take them off your hands! . Library – on Wednesdays at the start of the session you are invited to come and choose a book with your child from our Library Book Trolley. Your child may take their chosen book home and then return it the following Wednesday when they can swap it for another. (Please note however that any lost or damaged books will have to be paid for by parents). . WOW Cards – we love to hear all about your child’s achievements out of school. If you would like to share them with us, please fill in a “WOW” card. These are available to take from the cloakroom area. For any parents who do not collect their child, just let us know and we will send some home with your child.

If you have any questions about our curriculum for next half term (details outlined below) or would simply like to know how your child is getting on then please do not hesitate to come and chat to us at the end of the session or ask for an appointment to see the teacher at a separate time. For any working parents we can either make an appointment or advise you over the telephone if you will ring the office to arrange a mutually convenient time to talk. From: Mrs Shires and Mrs Mulready – Foundation Stage Teachers.
