Top Reasons to Buy an Avaya UPS When it comes to providing the best possible power protection solution for your Avaya telecommunications equipment, select the best--an Avaya UPS.

. Online, Double-conversion Technology All Avaya UPS models feature a rugged, online design where power is completely regenerated before reaching the connected load so that no disturbances reach the connected equipment. An Avaya UPS provides complete protection from all nine common power problems. In addition, the online design is compatible with generators. . Advanced Battery Management (ABM) Avaya UPS models feature Advanced Battery Management, which doubles battery service life, optimizes recharge time, and provides advanced warning of the end of useful battery life. With increased battery life, you won't need to replace the batteries as quickly. As a result, the total cost of ownership for an Avaya UPS is reduced. In addition, most competitive UPS models use an LED to indicate that the batteries are dead with no advanced notice. . Extended Backup Times Avaya has custom solutions designed to provide up to 8 hours of backup time. Competitive UPS offerings are often difficult to configure for long runtimes. . Avaya Authorized and Approved Each Avaya labeled UPS is designed and tested to meet the rigorous Avaya specifications of telecommunications and ancillary equipment. . Web/SNMP Card Avaya models are equipped with the Web/SNMP card for advanced communication and monitoring capabilities.

Web/SNMP Card Included with the 6000 VA UPS, the Web/SNMP card enables you to monitor and control remote UPSs from web browsers or industry standard network management systems. The Web/SNMP card supports real-time web and SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) communication over 10/100BaseT Ethernet connections and serves as a power-protected switching hub to support three additional 10/100BaseT links.

800.322.4877 Page 2 of 7 powerware.com/avaya PowerPass Distribution Modules (PPDM) The PPDMs are designed to enhance the reliability and flexibility of the 6000 VA UPS. With an integrated maintenance bypass switch, the PPDM allows you to upgrade or replace the UPS without shutting down protected equipment. It also provides various output receptacle options. The default module is the PPDM, L5-30R, but you can select one of the other three models depending on your application requirements.

LanSafe Software Each Avaya UPS ships with a CD containing LanSafe software, which delivers comprehensive support including graceful, remote shutdown of UPS units and network monitoring tools. LanSafe supports all major operating systems.

LanSafe Features and Benefits . Patent pending Cost $avings Calculator allows you to determine overall savings resulting from the LanSafe monitoring system . Exclusive Stealth Mode Operation enables LanSafe to run in the background without visual traces . 3-D PowerScope and ControlRoom views eliminate the guesswork from UPS metering and status information . History View provides around-the-clock visual representation of the system event log in calendar format

Seismic Kit The seismic kit stabilizes the UPS in areas such as California that have earthquake safety requirements. The seismic kit holds the UPS, the PPDM, and an EBM (a total of 11U). It is equipped with casters (wheels) for easy movement and a set of brackets that can be used to bolt the kit to the floor. You can use multiple seismic kits if you have more than 1 EBM, but be sure to order a 48-inch battery extender cable.

Extended Power Distribution Modules (EPDM) EPDMs provide additional output receptacle choices. For example, PDM06 pictured above is designed with a 5-50R output receptacle for 120V DEFINITY installations.

4-post Rail Kit The UPS ships with mounting ears and handles. However, they do not completely support the UPS in a rack enclosure. If a shelf does not support the UPS, you'll need to order the optional rackmount kit. Order 1 kit per UPS and 1 kit per EBM. For example, order 3 kits for a configuration with a UPS, a PDM, and an EBM.

Alarm Relay Card The Alarm Relay Card is used to connect the UPS to a DEFINITY Remote Maintenance Board to monitor alarm contacts. It fits into the option slot on the rear panel of the UPS.
