Air Canada today announced the introduction of the only non-stop flights from Vancouver to Delhi, India beginning October 20, 2016, in time for Diwali festivities. The seasonal, three-times weekly flights complement Air Canada’s Toronto-Delhi non-stop service launched last fall. To promote the new Vancouver-Delhi route, Air Canada is offering special introductory fares starting as low as $999 round trip, all-in. VIA Rail has relaunched its Travel Agent Support e-learning training course on Travelweek’s Learning Centre. Agents who complete the course will be entered to win a $1,000 VIA Rail voucher for travel within Canada.

“The travel trade is an important distribution channel for us and we appreciate every opportunity we have to educate agents on all of the wonderful options and features we have to offer,” says Tracey Allen-Nurmi, senior manager, domestic & international sales, VIA Rail Canada Inc.

The course has six modules and takes about 45 minutes to complete, exploring the VIA network and the different routes and different classes available to passengers as well as onboard services and sleeping accommodation options. It also provides travel agents with the required information to make bookings and find support from VIA.

“This program allows us to build on our continued efforts to educate Canada’s travel agency community on their nation’s passenger rail service,” said Allen-Nurmi. “VIA Rail offers efficient, environmentally sustainable and cost-effective transportation coast to coast through-out the year, while providing the opportunity to experience some of the most beautiful scenery this country has to offer.”
