Important Declaration - I, the undersigned, hereby apply for membership and undertake to be bound by the rules of the club and to pay such fees and subscriptions as the rules may require. If I renew online in future then this declaration is carried forward implicitly. I agree on behalf of myself and any joint members included in this application to abide by the company's articles of association and byelaws. I undertake to hold a valid certificate of insurance to cover all boats and boards used by any person included within this application for at least £3,000,000 third party liability, and I also undertake that all persons included within this application will use personal buoyancy aids at all times whilst on the water at Seaford, Piddinghoe or Newhaven. As a club run for members by volunteers we rely on members to contribute to the running of the club  with the maintenance of club facilities by attending work parties or volunteering to take on projects as directed by the Rear Commodores for Piddinghoe or Seaford  by volunteering to act as Race Officials /Safety boat support at club events  by helping to organise and run club social events/  other contributions as agreed by a club Director in writing will be considered.  To claim the “Duty Discount” you must volunteer to fulfil the minimum number of points during the year, failure to do so, without a reasonable excuse, accepted by the Board of Directors may result in refusal to accept membership with the discount during the following year.  The Non Duty Option is intended to help members who, because of work or family commitments cannot fulfil their duties and is not intended for members who race regularly to pay to avoid having to do duties.  The Seaford Clubhouse may be hired for private functions but the person hiring must have been a member for at least six months and have shown a commitment to fulfilling their duty requirements.  All ages in membership rules relate to age as at 1st January 2017.  A cadet is defined as any member under 18 years on 1st January 2017.  The Club is always happy to help people with genuine financial hardship to get afloat—contact Membership Secretary for a discussion. Tel 0800 024 6206  Guests can be signed-in by members on up to 3 occasions but must then apply for their own memberships (applies to sailing and social).  Social members may join in with sailing events on up to 3 occasions before upgrading their membership. This is not an annually renewable concession.  Storage: see Byelaws for details on storing windsurfers, canoes and use of stacking trailers. Berths are not transferable. Boats left on berths after the owner has ceased to be a member or berth fees have not been paid, may be sold or removed in order to recover outstanding membership fees  MEMBERHIP RENEWAL IS DUE ON THE 1st of JANUARY EACH YEAR.  New members joining after 1st September will be granted up to 16 months membership at the prevailing membership rates, with renewal in the second January.  Members failing to renew their membership by the end of March will be expected to pay the new member joining fee unless a reasonable case can be made.  Data Protection • Information will be used solely for the purpose of managing your membership. It will not be shared with any third party for marketing or promotion activities but is stored in a commercially hosted data service. Telephone/email details are made available to other members through a secure web page to facilitate duty confirmation & swapping. Images : the club and its agents occasionally take photos and videos of participants for publicity purposes for use on the internet, in print . In addition you can expect other members to take photographs which may include you and your family / guests.

Seaford Piddinghoe Sailing Race Officer - Responsible for organising racing on the sea and lake - experience needed.

Assistant Race Officer - Helps Race Officer - no experience necessary RIB Helm - Drives the safety boat - PB2 needed - the club runs Power Boat Training Courses. ARK Helm - Drives the displacement boat - - PB2 needed - the club runs Power Boat Training Courses. RIB Crew - Needs to be in a wetsuit and prepared to go into water if needed - helps lay and lift marks.

ARK Crew - On Ark - need to dress for prevailing weather - helps lay and lift marks.

Seaford Maintenance - to be part of the team maintaining the buildings and grounds at Seaford - specialist craftsmen welcome but plenty of unskilled jobs to be done.

Piddinghoe Maintenance - to be part of the team maintaining the buildings and grounds at Piddinghoe - specialist craftsmen welcome but plenty of unskilled jobs to be done.

Bosun's Team - The bosuns maintain the safety boats, trailers and other machinery at Seaford and Piddinghoe.

At Piddinghoe - there are sailing dinghies owned by the club that need maintaining. Mechanics and Craftsmen welcome but also plenty of unskilled jobs to be done.

Social Team - organises social events - organisers to plan and take charge, helpers needed to set up the event, to help run the event and to clear up after the event. Some opportunities to help behind the bar may be available.

Cadet Galley - On cadet nights to help cooking. serving and clearing up in the Galley. Cadet Day/ Winter Series Officer of the Day – on Cadet Nights,Cadet Saturdays and Winter Series to take responsibility for collecting the necessary keys, unlocking the site and boats, generally ensuring smooth running of the evening/afternoon, morning and securing the site.

Piddinghoe Galley - During the winter series on Sunday mornings to run Galley- teas coffees and bacon butties.
