Making an Offer
o Completed Reference Checks forwarded to HR Making an Offer o Draft Offer Letter Approved/Forwarded via DocuSign o New Hire Added to Onboarding Calendar
1. The hiring official/department will make a verbal offer of employment once candidate is approved by HR.
2. Once verbally extended, HR will assist the hiring authority with the appropriate offer letter. All offer letters can be found on HRs website under ‘USFSP Letter of Offer Templates’: https://www.usfsp.edu/human-resources/for-employees/hr-forms/#toggle-id-2
Prepare the word document and forward offer letter and completed reference checks(at least 3) to HR for approval. HR will download the unsigned offer letter into DocuSign and forward to signing authority (Dean or authorized signor) and candidate. HR will be prompted to initiate the appropriate background check. HR will add new hire to onboarding calendar once required paperwork is received (Offer letter, references, background check) and date is confirmed with department/new hire.
3. Communication with HR is extremely vital during this final process of recruiting.
