North Carolina Map Project

NORTH CAROLINA MAP PROJECT

In order to learn about our state you will need to complete a map project about North Carolina. It is important to know about the state that you live in. I have given you a blank map of North Carolina. I would like for you to fill out the following on your map and color it according to the directions. Please color very light so I can read what you have written on your map. You may use your social studies book and/or the internet to help you find the information you need.

-Label the 100 counties in the correct location on the map. You may have to write small to fit some names in the space.

-Label our state capital Raleigh, in Wake County

-Label the Mountain Region right under the counties and color the region light green

-Label the Piedmont Region right under the counties and color the region light orange, except for Yadkin County and Wake County-color them yellow

-Label the Coastal Region right under the counties and color the region light purple

-Label the bordering ocean and color it blue

-Label the four surrounding states and color as follows: Virginia-red Tennessee-brown Georgia-pink South Carolina-yellow
