When you have received an offer of a place on your chosen MA course, please return to the Development & Alumni Office by 5pm on Monday 25 July 2016 either by email: [email protected] with the subject heading: ‘The Mark Wood Art & Design Scholarship Application’, or by post to: Development & Alumni Office, Anglia Ruskin University, Bishop Hall Lane, Chelmsford, CM1 1SQ.

Please enclose or attach a copy or scan of the transcript evidencing the final actual marks (percentage) that you achieved in your undergraduate degree.

Eligibility criteria:

The eligibility criteria for this Scholarship are that the applicant:

 Is taking up a place on one of the following Masters postgraduate courses offered by ARU’s Cambridge School of Art:

 MA Film and TV Production  MA Fine Art  MA Printmaking  MA Graphic Design and Typography  MA Illustration and Book Arts  MA Photography  MA Fashion Design  MA Computer Games Development (Art)

 Must be starting their studies in September  Is not a member of Anglia Ruskin staff whose course fees are being paid by ARU  May be studying either full-time or part-time

The scholarship is to be used to enhance the outcomes of the course.

The scholarship will be awarded to the applicant with the highest actual marks (percentage) achieved in their undergraduate degree and evidenced by a copy of their transcript. International applicants will have their marks adjusted to the UK equivalent based on the UK Government’s overseas grade comparison table.

The scholarship is open to students who have studied for their undergraduate degree at Anglia Ruskin or any other university that can provide evidence of final undergraduate degree marks.

In the case of a tie on actual marks between two or more applicants, selection will be determined by a scoring system based on the information provided in the supporting statement section of this form. Scholarship terms and conditions:

As an exempt charity, it is vital that we are accountable to our donors for the way in which their donations are used, and that we ensure that The Mark Wood Art and Design Scholarship is used appropriately by the recipient who has been selected by the Committee and approved by the Trustees. The successful applicant will be asked to sign ‘Terms and Conditions of Scholarship Acceptance’ which outlines their responsibility to the Committee and to Mark Wood as the donor of The Mark Wood Art and Design Scholarship.

 The recipient needs to satisfy the criteria for this scholarship as stated above  The scholarship is a one-off cash amount of £2,500 and will be awarded in the first semester of the year of study.  The recipient will inform the Anglia Ruskin University Development & Alumni Office immediately if they take a leave of absence or withdraw from the course. If they fail to inform Admissions they may be asked to repay the scholarship.  The recipient will agree to:  Attend a scholar’s meeting on acceptance of the scholarship  Write a short progress report at end of the second semester of study  Attend a donor reception during their year of study  Provide quotes and a photo for use in ARU promotional material and publications, and on the website
