Format: Timed Finals/ FLIP THE AGE GROUPS plus 8 & Under mini meet

1) The odd age groups makes this a unique meet and gives swimmers at the bottom of their age group a chance to be at the top and for those at the top to get a feel for the competition to come. 2) Mini Meet- Our youngest swimmers can feel quite intimidated by the entire meet experience. By separating this group we allow them to warm up in a more controlled environment and swim in a meet just with kids their age. The meet length is much shorter and more suitable for this age group. More experienced and competitive 8 yr. Olds can opt to swim in the 8-9 division of the morning session. 3) Sunday- we realize that many of the high school swimmers will be participating in high school meets on Sat.. We have made an effort to provide some non-HS events and distances for these swimmers to participate in (200 back, 200 fly, 400 IM, and 1000 free)

Facility: 25 yard, 6 lane regulation pool built in 2006, located on the campus of Murray State University.

Seating is limited; spectators are encouraged to bring chairs. Colorado timing system w/6 place scoreboard. No coolers will be allowed in the facility. Start times: Saturday AM Session: Warm-ups 8:00 a.m./Meet Begins 9 a.m. Saturday PM Session: Warm-ups 12:30 p.m./ Meet begins 1:00 p.m. Sunday AM Session: Warm-ups 8:00 a.m./Meet begins 9 a.m.

Concessions: CONCESSIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE

Directions: From I-24, take the Purchase Parkway to Highway 641. Travel south on 641 to Murray. The wellness center is located behind the MSU football stadium and basketball arena (CFSB Center). Entrance to the facility and parking will be off of 121 N. From Highway 80 travel west to the intersection of highway 641. Turn left (south) onto 641 and follow directions above.

Parking: Parking is available in parking lots behind the RSEC and dormitory parking lots adjacent to the Wellness Center. *Saturday – parking may be restricted due to graduation.

Eligibility: Open to all currently registered USA swimmers. USA memberships applied for will not be accepted. Swimmer’s age on Dec. 11, 2010 determines swimmer’s age group for meet. A roster of USA Swimming numbers must accompany entries.

Rules: The “National Starting Procedure” will be used, including the “No Recall False Start”. All swimmers who are not accompanied by a USA Swimming registered coach should report to the meet referee for warm up instructions. Coaches must have current USA Swimming coach’s card.

Events: Swimmer may enter 5 individual events per day. There are no relays. All events are timed finals. 8 year olds may swim in the regular session or the mini meet.

Entry Fees: $4.00 per individual event $5.00 surcharge ($1.50 KY, $3.50 facility charge)

Awards: Age Groups: 8-9,10-11,12-13,14-15, Open Mini Meet Age Groups: 6 & under, 7, 8 Individual events: Ribbons 1st – 6th place High point: Trophies awarded each age group, male and female Entries: Entries should be submitted electronically (Hy-Tek) to Julie Santiago, [email protected]. Please submit times in short course yards. The hardcopy of the electronic entries, team roster and the check for all fees must be mailed by the entry deadline, Wednesday, December 1, 2010 to:

Please make checks payable to the Murray Youth Swim Team. Psyche Sheets will be sent to Coaches for review prior to the meet. Deck entries may be allowed if entry clerk does not have a stroke !

Amendments: Depending upon meet size, the Meet Director reserves the right to amend warm-up times if necessary. Depending upon meet size, the Meet Director reserves the right to either limit entries and/or end the meet at the 4-hour mark.

Vendor: Action Accents swim gear merchandise will be available for purchase

Officials Training: There will be a “New Officials” training session during the meet. Time TBA
