EXPERIENCE More than 25 years of clinical experience as a physician specialized in Internal and General Medicine. The majority of the work has been at Huddinge University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. 1983 – 1992 collaboration with Kabi Vitrum (Sweden), a pharmaceutical company, as an active participant in several pharmaco-kinetic and clinical projects, which resulted in a number of publications and led to a major socioeconomic gain in the Swedish health care system. I have also worked several years with other pharmaceutical companies i.e. Hoffman-La-Roche (Switzerland) and BioNative AB (Sweden).

1992 as an active researcher defended my thesis on bleeding complications in acute leukemia. As part of the research program passed a diversity of graduate courses i.e. parametric and nonparametric statistics, medical ethics, hematology/coagulation disorders etc.

1993 acquired special knowledge in echocardiography.

2002 studied Herbal Medicine under the guidance of The Swedish Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Now I am active as a general practitioner, employed part-time for approximately 3-4 months/year in Stockholm, Sweden and the rest of the year, I work as a medical translator. I started freelancing 12 years ago with translations from English to Swedish for The National Board of Health and Welfare in Sweden. I continued with proofreading of medical papers and thesis intended for publishing. Later on the assignments have included Investigator manuals, User Manuals, Instruction for Use, medical charts, different kinds of questionnaires, Interactive Voice Response Services, labels, pharmacological text using EMEA standard templates, clinical trials, research etc. I have also performed onsite testing of software for HighTech Passport in San José.

I have listed some of the clients, for whom I have translated, edited and proofread documents below. I have also had jobs during this time as a reviewer.

Acquired the degree of Doctor in Medical Science (Ph.D.) May 1992, The Royal Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. 1993 passed the Basic Medical and Clinical Science Examinations for The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), San Francisco, CA. 1993 passed the Basic Science Examination and the Non-Invasive Registry in Echocardiography, San Francisco, CA.

PUBLICATIONS Thesis 1992 (English language, ISBN: 91-628-0633-5). 26 papers published in internationally recognized journals (the majority, 22/26, of the publications in the English language). One chapter in a text-book. 29 abstracts.
