Important Notes: 9 Art History courses is the minimum number of courses required to complete the Art History major. 200-level courses only count toward the 200-level requirement and the 9 course minimum to complete the major. 300- and 400-level Art History courses may count toward each of the three Distribution Requirement categories but may not count twice in an individual Distribution Requirement category. Example: Art History 354 may count toward the Modern or Contemporary Chronological Distribution requirement, but not toward both requirements. AH 354 may also count toward the Cross-Cultural/Diaspora Geographic Distribution requirement as well as the Theory & Method Distribution requirement. So in this example, AH 354 counts toward each of the Distribution requirement areas AND it counts toward the 300-level requirement for the major. 500-level courses only count toward the 500-level (proseminar) requirement & the 9 course minimum to complete the major.
