The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) now invites applications for admission to PhD Programmes at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) through the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme in 2016/17.

What the Fellowship Offers?
Each fellowship recipient will receive: A monthly stipend of HK$20,000 (approximately US$2,600) A conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$10,000 per year (approximately US$1,300) An additional entrance scholarship of HK$69,096 (approximately US$8,858) covering tuition and on-campus hostel accommodation fees for the first year of studies

Entrance Requirements
Applicants seeking admission to PhD studies at CityU should satisfy the following minimum entrance requirements: Hold a higher degree by research (or equivalent qualification) from a recognised university; or Hold a taught Master's degree (or equivalent qualification) from a recognised university; or Hold a Bachelor's degree with first class honours (or equivalent qualification) from a recognised university.
English Proficiency Requirements
Applicants from an institution where the language of teaching is not English should satisfy the following minimum English proficiency requirements: A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based); or A minimum overall band score of 6.5 in IELTS. (Please note that individual departments in the College may adopt a higher standard.)

Applications to the Fellowship Scheme are invited from 1 September 2015 - 1 December 2015 (by noon Hong Kong time). Applicants are required to submit online applications to both RGC and CityU.
