Introduction The Temasek Research Fellowship (TRF) 2011 is now open for application. Outstanding young researchers with Ph.D Degrees in science or technology are invited to apply for the prestigious TRF awards.

The Temasek Research Fellowship (TRF) is a scheme aimed at recruiting outstanding young researchers with Ph.D Degree in science or technology. The scheme provides young researchers an opportunity to conduct and lead research that is relevant to defence. It offers:

 A 3-year research grant that commensurate with the scope of work, with an option to extend up to a further 3 years,  Possible tenure-track academic appointment with NUS at the end of the TRF,  Attractive and competitive remuneration.

Research Fields

New research focus areas may be added for subsequent years. For 2011, Fellows may lead and conduct research, and publish in these areas:

Prospective candidates are encouraged to discuss their research proposal with the relevant Programme Managers before submission of the application.

Applications in other fundamental areas of science or technology, where a breakthrough would be of interest to defence and security, will also be considered.

Application Procedures To apply, please provide the following documents completed in English. All certificates must be duly certified:

 Completed TRF Research Application Form  Detailed Curriculum Vitae (including complete publication listing, employment & educational history, language proficiency, availability status).  Certificates - Basic and post graduate qualifications including detailed transcripts of grades/scores.  Abstract of previous research accomplishments (list titles and references of published works and works in process, patents, papers presented at conferences etc)  Three recent international referee reports, complete with each referee's one-page Curriculum Vitae

Applicants will be shortlisted by a TRF Review Panel, and will be invited to present their research plans, meet local researchers and identify potential collaborators in May 2012. Shortlisted applicants from outside Singapore will receive an allowance to cover travel and accommodation expenses.
