Congress Meeting: September 8th, 2017 I. Call to Order @ 1:30pm II. Roll Call: Complete III. Approval of Agenda: Passed IV. Guest Speakers a. SafeNet (unable to attend) b. Paul Eicher Wants to introduce himself to the body and explain what he does on campus. Director of student development, title 9 coordinator, wants to work with organizations to be involved in sexual misconduct/diversity inclusion initiatives, Can help coordinate and build relationships between organizations, wants to also be bridge between orgs and community to volunteer: Thrift Harbor (looking for group volunteers), Volunteers for Youth- Walking Pals (every Wednesday)- want students commit fully for a semester, Nikki Phillip: Programming for Suicide Prevention Week- needs help setting up temporary art instillation (Monday from 2:30-5) V. Election Results a. Elect Parliamentarian New Senators and Justices announced (Runner up: Neptali, if one more justice is found Neptali can join) Senators still Needed - Parliamentarian position vacated, request for Volunteers: John Barron - Movement to appoint John by Acclimation: Passed VI. Executive Committee Reports a. President: Reps and Senators need to get a folder at the end of meeting, recruit for Senators, Career and Internship and Graduate School Fair (Sept 27th 11am-1:30pm) , College Suit up Even at JC Penney (Sept 10th 6:30pm-10pm) b. Vice President: Sean wishes the best of luck to this year’s Congress Allison is the new VP c. Executive Assistant: No report d. House Floor Leader: Each organization can have 2 reps, encourage reps to join the FB page in order to stay informed, Kiddie Carnival Oct. 27th, Funds Requests must be submitted 6 weeks prior, Announcements at the end of agenda is a chance for organizations to let the body know what events are coming up for their org e. Senate Floor Leader: He is a resource for Senators, Senators should email him with any questions regarding legislation f. PR Director: Orgs can inform Creed if they need any flyers, if orgs are having any sort of event they should use #RSUSGA g. Parliamentarian: No report h. Chief Justice: Not present VII. Advisor Report a. Kayla Conkling: Wednesday Walking Pals- at Roosa Elementary and Claremont, Kayla has applications, Reps can check with Kayla after meeting to see what they are missing, Organization mailbox should be checked once a week, Copy of bylaws and constitution in folders, any forms should be turned into Kayla in Student Affairs Office b. Maddy Lambing: Homecoming is approaching, Maddy has applications, Apps due Oct 13th, interviews Oct. 20th - (time to be announced) c. Dr. Brent Marsh: Wants everyone to feel free to participate, wants everyone to think about what their job is, take notes, share with org what happens in SGA meetings. For Senators: get connected with department chair. Announcements time is a great time to share what is going on in orgs. Funding: finance committee reviewed requests, next month will give a picture of budget, need to meet with SJL and CIA following the meeting for clarification on their funds requests. Meeting schedule is in folder (Senate will attend all meetings on the schedule). Colton will set up meetings for Supreme Court PALS Program: Mentors needed (once a week) Student Leadership Retreat: Oct 6th, if interested email Dr. Marsh paragraph explaining why they want to go Tulsa Ministers Alliance: Nov. 21st, December 19th- tentative dates, two Holiday giveaway events for deserving families Celebrate 66: In need of 40 volunteers total (Sept. 23rd) need about 12 more people, Salvation Army Bellringing volunteering opportunity for orgs d. Addition: Elise- Coordinator of Disability Services Anyone in need of services need to visit her office, Diabetics and people who are pregnant can also be given services, available in Student Affairs Office

VIII. Committee Reports

a. Finance: Sean-Finance committee reviewed funds requests, New events coming up, PLC dance was a success along with other welcome week events, need to talk to CIA and SJL b. Rock the Vote: Allison-Event is coming up (Sept 17th-23rd), if orgs want to volunteer contact Allison Midterm elections coming up, this event is a great way to get volunteer hours IX. New Business a. New Orgs (AMP) Meets every Sunday at 7:30pm, in FLC building Vote to Approve Org: Passed b. Funds Requests (PLC and Bass Fishing Team) -PLC: request of funds for prizes to be given at Fairest on the Hill- Oct. 3rd ($500) Motion to move to a hand vote: passed Vote: 40-0 in the affirmative -Bass Fishing Team: Money for travel to tournaments ($1,200) Vote: 40-0 in the affirmative

c. Legislation (Kiddie Carnival Bill) Requires orgs to participate in Kiddie Carnival and Easter Egg Hunt Bill needs to be amended to change 2015 to 2017 Additional amendments will be made Will be voted on in Oct. Meeting

X. Announcements -CAT will be handing out stickers on Monday in Baird and Chapman -Sept. 28th- GLOW dance -CIA and SJL reps need to stay after meeting -Pre-Professional Health Club is having medical panel October 5th -Mental Wealth day Oct 4th from 12-4 in the Clubhouse
