From 1 April 2013 all households will be supplied with brown bags to put their cardboard in, which can be left out for collection on the same day and time as their dry recycling – green box and bag, cans, bottles and papers. At the same time residents can put out small electrical items for recycling as well. In fact, you can do that now.

The Draft North Devon and Torridge Local Plan is now available for public consultation until the 15 March 2013. You can read the document on the internet by typing in www.torridge.gov.uk/localplan. See also the article below for more detail.

Further improvements to the Church walk footpath are being considered by the provision of more stone and also in line with DCC policy, the removal of the kissing gate to make access easier

Potholes – the parish council regularly contact Devon County Council regarding pot holes that appear in the roads. Members of the public can also contact the council direct with any problems by emailing www.devon.gov.uk/pothole or they can call 0845 1551004

TORRIDGE AND NORTH DEVON LOCAL PLAN The Councils would like to invite you to have your say on the draft of the North Devon and Torridge Local Plan. We need your views on whether the range and content of the policies is right and whether the proposed new strategic sites are the most suitable sites for housing, employment and regeneration. A six week period of public consultation starts on 31st January 2013 and your comments must arrive no later than 5pm on the 15th March 2013.

This consultation is intended to test and gather views on the strategies, identified sites for development and policies and is an opportunity to head-off any major concerns. It is important for interested parties to get involved now rather than waiting for the publication stage when there will be less flexibility to make changes to the Local Plan.

The Draft North Devon and Torridge Local Plan can be viewed online, at Council Offices and Libraries.

Printed copies of the draft Local Plan are available as follows:
