o Would like to increase participation and visibility

 District 97 referendum that will be on the docket in January K-8th grade II. Discussion

 Funding request per staff/ clear protocol will be established

 Mrs. Howe- request $400 for Birthday Book Program

o Books will be donated to the library in honor of each students birthday

o Request of $400 from PTO for a startup payment

o The push is to have parent participation through donations to purchase hardcover books

o Each child will inscribe a book in their honor; read it first; it will then will be available for circulation

o In addition to child recognition and support of reading this project will lend in filling gaps for new and improved literature to enrich our library program

o Chair position and volunteers requested for this ongoing project

 Mrs. Florczak- request $50.00 for Hatch Cartoon Club

o Storytelling through comics

o Non-specific content

o Digital format

 Ms. Mura-request $250 for PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support)

o Multi- tier system of support for teachers and staff

o Every month a staff member is recognized and receives $5 gift certificate when they identify and reward good Hatch Habits

o Ties into tiger tickets/heads while building morale of students and staff

 Sra. Bruno-request $479 for sit and read mats

o Flame retardant and durable  Ms. Dietmeyer-request $219 for classroom chair back pockets

 Ms. Quickery, Ms. Kruse and Ms. Ficca- request for a $ 53 yearly subscription/class to Words Their Way Program

o Technology component to attract kids to do the assigned activity

o Easy to communication instruction and give kids a bit of choice

o High level of engagement and enhanced learning

o Up to 25 students per subscription

 Ms. Thomas- request $400 for Cultural Storytelling - Japanese Illinois Storytelling Foundation

o 2-45 minute sessions broken into class grades for the entire school

o Ties into social emotional learning and community outreach through a message of peace and philanthropy

o Curriculum is storytelling based as it connects us as human beings through community and fellowship

o This embodies what we are collectively working towards at Hatch

o Traditional grab; songs; dance; music; culture

o Hatch currently granted 1-30 minute session per the foundation
