WikiVOIS Development Officer

Salary £16,000 - £20,000 depending on experience. The SROI Network would be interested in applications for a full time role. However for more experienced candidates, part time role could be considered and hours and salary can be negotiated.

The SROI Network Limited is an international membership organisation based in Liverpool that supports the development of Social Return on Investment. It was set up in 2007 and now has over 600 members. It is a small organisation with currently only four other full time member of staff. The main activities of the network are:

 Supporting members  Developing and advocating principles for accounting for social value  Developing the methodology for social return on investment  Ensuring adherence to the principles and methodology of SROI  Providing a forum for the continued development of the principles and methodology  Maintaining and disseminating information on indicators for use in SROI  Providing training in SROI

The SROI network recently launched WikiVOIS (www.wikivois.org) as an open database for social, economic and environmental outcomes, indicators and valuations. This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of a growing international resource for analysts and evaluators, and any organisation or individual interested in the outcomes of their work.

We now need a Development Officer to work on the development of our WikiVOIS Database

Terms and conditions The salary for a full time role would be up to £20,000. Holiday entitlement is 25 days holiday per annum.

Person Specification Essential Passion for measurement and accountability

Experience in management information systems and database management Experience in research and analysis

Ability to research online resources, extract and manage large quantities of data Able to manage personal relationships Ability to work as part of a team

Competent use of word and excel

Desirable Knowledge of public sector and social enterprise Support for the principles of SROI Experience in SROI analysis Use of Wikipedia including submitting and editing articles

Experience in at least one area relating to the principles: stakeholder involvement, outcomes management, valuation, benchmarking Job Description

WikiVOIS Development Officer Reporting to the CEO

Location Ideally this job will be based in our office in Liverpool; however we are open to negotiation with regards to location. This role may be required to travel within the UK, with some late working.

Job purpose Managing the WikiVOIS (Values, Outcomes, Indicators, Stakeholders) database and information system.

Researching online resources, extracting and managing large quantities of data.

Publishing and editing data from examined research for the database.

Identifying and filling in gaps in information in records as a pre-requirement for entries to be approved.

Working with members to develop protocols and procedure for adding and amending data.

Negotiate arrangements with other organisations that maintain valued data for interfaces with WikiVOIS.

Identify potential sources of financial support.

Developing procedures and systems for approval of entries and criteria for approving editors .

Identifying information on outcomes, indicators of outcomes and values and costs of outcomes.

Extracting new information using existing data sources, other databases, cost benefit analyses and SROI reports.

Identifying and filling in gaps in information in records as a pre-requirement for entries to be approved.

Organising the monthly WikiVOIS subcommittee.

Liaising with SROI members and attending conferences to promote the WikiVOIS database. Other The person may be required to support other activities within the SROI Network as required depending on skills and experience.
