HB 95 Unemployment Compensation Koziura (D) 56-Lorain To specify conditions under which a claimant’s unemployment compensation benefits are not reduced by the amount the claimant concurrently receives in social security retirement benefits. HB 98 Diabetes Coverage Schneider (R) 35-Cincinnati To require certain health care policies, contracts, agreements, and plans to provide benefits for equipment, supplies, and medication for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of diabetes and for diabetes self-management education. HB 106 Medicaid Buy-In Peterson (R) 2-Delaware To establish the Medicaid Buy-In for Workers with Disabilities Program and a Medicaid program for individuals who exhaust benefits under a qualified long- term care insurance policy. HB 161 Rental Agreements Raussen (R) 28-Springdale To permit a tenant to terminate a residential rental agreement without penalty if the tenant or the tenant's spouse is 62 years of age or older and, for medical reasons, enters a nursing home or other specified care facility. HB 183 Health Care Assault Setzer (R) 36-Vandalia To increase the penalty for assault to a felony of the fourth degree when the victim is a listed healthcare worker and to make assault against any school employee a felony of the fifth degree. (D) 60-Youngstown To prohibit a check-cashing business from making a loan to a borrower who has an outstanding loan with any check-cashing licensee, to create a statewide database of loans by check-cashing licensees, to modify the terms for making a loan under the check-cashing loan act, to create a small loan linked deposit program, to expand the responsibilities of the consumer finance education board to promote small loan counseling and education for borrowers, and to eliminate a certain credit union lending option. *HB 456 Health Care Raussen (R) 28-Springdale To establish Ohio CARE and to amend section 5112.08 of the Revised Code to limit or deny funds under the Hospital Care Assurance Program to a hospital that fails to contract with Medicaid managed care organizations and to provide that these provisions of this act terminate on October 16, 2009, when section 5112.08 of the Revised Code is repealed on that date. HB 456 was introduced on January 29, 2008, and referred to the Healthcare Access & Affordability Committee on January 30. Committee hearings on February 6 and February 20 were continued.
