Rationale The management team within Lornshill Academy is based on a Shared Leadership Model where responsibility and accountability for the school community is accepted by the full team regardless of individual roles and remits. Within each of the teams there is a shared approach / teams to support joint development, improvement and effective support / learning.

The complex nature of a school community demands a collegiate approach with management and leadership structures supporting collaborative working, whilst being effective for improving outcomes for all young people.

The leadership team within Lornshill Academy is split into BGE and Senior Phase teams,

The teams are responsible for the pupil experience and outcomes at each of the stages to ensure all aims are achieved throughout each session. This includes (not exhaustive),

 Calendar of events / activities.

 Management of key year group activities.

 Performance in HWB, Literacy, Numeracy, SQA and Wider Achievement.

 Learning Pathways.  Parental engagement including, Consultation Evenings, Information Evenings, Pupil Blogs, Events.

Pupil Responsibilities

Meeting the needs of all learners’ is the responsibility of every member of staff within our school community. However, for the purpose of accountability the following diagram outlines the key members of staff aligned with each year group.

Key Changes

 The House system will only operate for the BGE phase with 1 PT per House.  The Senior Phase will operate a year group system with 2 Pupil Support PT’s – S4 & S5/6  The BGE and Senior Phase teams will support the governance of each stage to ensure all entitlements are met.  Faculties will be aligned to wider teams of Humanities, STEM & Creative, Technologies and Health. Within each team the line management will remain with the current PT’s, however, there will be opportunities for wider learning teams to be established.

Leadership Team

 SLT – HT and all DHT’s  Personal Support Leaders – All PT’s Pupil Support and PT ASN  Curriculum Leaders – All Faculty Heads & Departmental PT’s Location of Leadership Team (Signage will be changed to reflect the new structure)

 HT - No change

 DHT’s – - DHT’s Senior Phase will be in the Forebraes DHT office - DHT’s BGE will be in the Grange DHT Office

 Senior Leaders Personal Support - BGE team will be in the current Grange House office - Senior Phase team will be in the current Forebraes House office - PT ASN will be in the large ASN base

 Curriculum Leaders - All Curriculum Leaders will be stationed within their current staff bases.

Please note this is a change to the leadership structure and processes and there is no significant change the normal running of the school. Details are being finalised and will be shared with all members of the school community.

The planned changes are for the new timetable and any relevant information required will be shared before these take place.
