C. Smith, died on November 40 23, 2001, and was posthumously elected to the Carolina Beach 41 Music Awards (CBMA) Hall of Fame and was honored by 42 Governor Jim Hodges, who declared June 21, 2002, as “O. C.

[4051] 2 1 Smith Day” in South Carolina. His father also wrote a book, Little 2 Green Apples: God Really Did Make Them, with James Shaw that 3 was published after his death; and 4 5 Whereas, Robert Smith founded the Little Green Apples Project to 6 encourage others to do intentional acts of kindness for people from 7 all walks of life; and 8 9 Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives salutes the 10 efforts of Robert Smith to inspire and motivate both people with 11 and people without disabling challenges to reach for their dreams, 12 and the members applaud his quest for making intentional acts of 13 kindness a reality for countless others and ask all our citizens to 14 join him in doing the same. Now, therefore, 15 16 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 17 18 That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, 19 by this resolution, recognize and honor Robert Francis Smith, 20 founder of the Little Green Apples Project, for his many 21 remarkable achievements. 22 23 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 24 Robert Francis Smith. 25 XX 26
