Course Information

Description:

Students learn to create web pages using HTML code. Topics include creating a basic page, linking to other pages, creating tables, using colors, and publishing pages. As new coding technologies emerge, these will be addressed and discussed. Prior experience using the Internet is preferred, but not required.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this class, students will be able to: 1. Create an HTML document 2. Format text within an HTML document 3. Make decisions regarding HTML document color 4. 6. Create tables within an HTML document 7. Create a frame set HTML document 8. Create an HTML form 9. Troubleshoot HTML markup 10. Use File Transfer Protocol (FTP)

Grading

1) Attendance and Participation 30% (Including Homework) 2) Class Project 35% 3) Quizzes and Tests 35% a) Written Exam will be administered in the testing center and may be taken anytime between the end of class on Wednesday 04/17/02 and closing time for the testing center on 04/23/02 b) The coding exam will be administered in class on Monday, 04/22/02. If you cannot attend this class it is very important we make alternate arrangements

Project Assignment: Create a multi-page web site that demonstrates understanding of the concepts taught in the class. This website may be concerned with any topic, but must consist of at least four pages and have an index.
